Overheating power supply, modification GX Nuong, etc.

||
When running my GX CS3 compressor in hot weather (It was 38 C at the range), the power supply becomes quite hot.

I removed the black plastic grill between the fan and the cover. The volume of air flow increased significantly, so I expect a reduction in operating temperature.

FWIW, some of this type of power supply doesn't have this grill.

Just remove the screws that hold the aluminum cover, lift off the cover, remove the fan screws, slide the black plastic grill out, and reinstall the fan screws & cover screws.

It would even be cooler if you enlarge the cooling vents on the aluminum cover so that all of the fan blades are exposed. Of course you run the risk obstructing and stopping the fan blades I doubt if your fingers would get hurt from the little fan like that.
I agree, however one runs increasing risk that something will obstruct the fan. There is also a diminishing effect of opening the venting.

You made me think that I have some temperature probes, so if I'm not too lazy, it might be fun to try some experiments with modifications.
