Thankfully gamo package scope mounts work well for me ..

I did once buy some ugt mount and got my money's worth ..

I guess it was some new fangled combo mount with 30mm on one end and 1" on the other

Burris rings have moa adjustment inserts, often you run out of "up elevation" and would need to shim otherwise. I use a cheap Monstrum but wish I had Burris if I just had one airgun.

You do know monstrum makes adjustment rings that are really nice too right? They also have a 2 step locking system so even if you drop it they won't shift.

Define "cheap". When I got into air gunning, my budget was pretty low, so "cheap/budget" parts where all I could afford. Now into my retirement I can afford mid price parts, $50-100 for rings is not a problem and saves me time and frustration.

I used to lap cheap rings in order to get them in alignment. Lapping done correctly takes a lot of time. With modern manufacturing, most of the mid priced rings are damn near prefect, not Spuhr perfect, but close enough for me.

I'm not sure what you get extra for the money. I've never had a *bad* set of rings. Even the Chinese $8 rings. Maybe if I were shooting a .457 PB spending larger amounts of money on rings would be necessary. But a PCP or Springer, as long as they are level and tight you are good to go. My $30 Westhunter adjustable rings are rock solid and I don't, usually, have to worry about adding risers.

I guess as well paying skilled mechanist like usa or uk wages and benefits bvs. China at bowl a rice a day wages ? ( Benefits there are enugh time off to actually eat most of it . )

What do you mean by windage adjustable rings? Why would you want to adjust left or right with the scope rings instead of the turret?

Just to clarify you do know I'm referring to the MOA adjustable rings, not height adjustable, right?

Sometimes you run out of windage adjustment on the turrets. Sometimes the root cause has an easy fix, sometimes not. I dont own Burris rings but id spend alot more time shooting than tinkering at the range if I used them with the inserts.

The turret springs also shouldnt be allowed to be fully relaxed, being able to zero and keep good tension on the turrets helps to keep it from shifting around, id want each turret to be at least screwed in halfway and ideally even more (i adjust elevation only rings so i have 80/20 on up/down adjustments on the turret, i.e. like 20 clicks down and 80 clicks up available)

In what situation you could ever run out of windage adjustment?

Unless you have a crooked scope rail, or are shooting in tropical storm winds, I see no need for it. I've shot in 20-25mph winds out to 150yds and have never ran out of wind adjustment.

I am with you on the eighty twenty for up and down adjustment, I do the same by getting MOA adjustable rings. But for windage I've always had more than enough, I hardly ever have to do more than maybe 5-10 clicks, L or R to make sure that my the scope is center.

Not saying that what you're saying is impossible, but I've never experienced it or heard of anybody else experiencing it either so i'm genuinely intrigued.

Well consider yourself lucky then. This is devolving into root cause instead of symptom management. If the root cause is known then you already know what to address.
