Airforce Texan SS .457 (I read you can get bottles on Alibaba?)

I have this old rifle, I was thinking of breaking it back up and adding some upgrades.

I heard on this site (why I made an account) you can buy tanks on that Chinese site, real cheap? The posts were made back in 2020, so I assume the price has now doubled or more...from the quoted $30 on a very old post (I googled this first and it confused me, too many options).

Anyways, looking to upgrade this old gal and bump her up to 4500psi and I have one of those larger "air tanks" but I don't have a regulator... so if anyone will please give me exact recommendations for those two parts. it would be lovely. Thanks!

I know its dirty... prob going to clean it too.

Thanks for any advice!

Also, I remember reading a long long time ago... that I should replace some sort of spring inside the rifle? If so... someone recommend me one... the nicest one possible that is. (ignoring price)

Yes, AliExpress and AliBaba have Carbon Fiber bottles that can be used. But looking at the frame you are fairly limited to the sane physical size as the heavier Aluminum bottle you now have. However, due to tariffs they are no longer significantly cheaper.

The spring is in the shroud and wraps around the barrel. It is what pushes the hammer against the tophat valve to release the air to shoot the pellet.

Www.trajectron.com has a lot of AirForce upgrades. Like heavy springs and heavy hammers.

You will need a bottle that can be filled to 250 bar (3625psi) to use that upgrade to the fullest.

Thanks, I have a 1/3 of a inch gap between the frame and the tank. are the CF tanks that much larger in diameter?

Is this a new version of the upgrade kid you provided me? Would you recommend this one instead if it is newer?

Reading more, it seems this is for a lower bar air rifle? idk sorry out of the loop. Just now coming back in and not messed with my stuff for a few years.

No, that is for the Condor and Talon .22/.25 guns.

There are other upgrades out there but your gun appears to have an aftermarket chassis. So I dont know if any of the upgraded bottle and valves will fit.

Yes, a very dedicated and lovely to work with man designed created my Chassis. I know he was having medical issues and a bunch of stuff (pre-covid). I do hope that man is alright. He called and kept me up to date on every aspect and it's so nicely made. Solid wood too. (Now ima be googling him)...brb

Yeah, his site is still up. I assume he is alive and well.

Doug (Mad Dog) made my stock/Chassis. I highly recommend him. Great work, great price.

Hey guys, just wanted to update this incase it shows up on google searches (how I got here).

When asked which bottle I would need for upgrade (to fit while also leaving room for vibrations)

Doug (MadDog) said
"Just go with a .05 Liter carbon bottle and you will be good. Call me if you need brother. "
-------------------------
This mans support and dedication to his customers even 6+ years later... is why I will ALWAYS recommend him.
For any rifle/airgun not just mine. Need a new upgraded stock/chassis? He is THE MAN.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now with that said...

The upgrade kid you suggested, says it won't work with the carbon fiber bottle right? Cause the carbon bottle goes up to 4500
and the spec sheet states "
IMPORTANT NOTE: MAX WORKING PRESSURE OF THIS VALVE IS 250 BAR. (3625 PSI)

So with that said, if I was going to upgrade to the carbon fiber to that tank as he suggested, which would you recommend to upgrade the spring etc...?

Yes, CF bottles can go to 4500psi. But you dont have to fill them to 4500psi. Stop at 250 bar/3625psi.

It will work fine with the Trajectron kit.
