Western Airguns After some months of inactivity I took the Sidewinder .25 out of the shelf... And...

Just two shots at 60 yards.

Both hit exactly where I aimed.

Very few PCP rifles can do that !!!

Doubtless the Sidewinder is a reliable rifle for hunting !!
I have received similar feedback about Western Airguns products, generally. Was not familiar with Western Airguns until recently. (We have two Brocock Sniper Safaris that are also "same hole" accurate, but that is for another dIscussion.)

Many PCP are one hole.

But very few hit perfectly after long time of inactivity/fill.

But those PCP's that hit in the same place no matter you have just fiill them or not being shot for a while, THOSE are the good ones for hunting purposes.

If you are in a blind waiting for a javalina, it could took hours waiting before a javalina gets there. Then you will have one chance to place perfectly the shot.

On those ocassions you valorate first shot accuracy.

Just did it over the weekend. Got out my 20+ years old .22 A.H. Hartley Stalker Tiger 10 and Falcon Hawk FN-19 both dropping pellets inside a dime. I rarely get them out because fumble fingers might damage them.

Evanix Sniper X2 .30 was at least 45 days. Still as accurate as my FX Bobcat or Royale.

Rest of them get pretty regular firings. And yes, several have to *warm up* or just never were that accurate.

On a completely different subject, I have always cleaned new barrels with Ballistol and a bore snake before firing. Was told at one time that I would "damage" my new barrel if I did not prep it so. Is that true?
