Million Pellets

I’m new to air gun shooting and I just ordered 2,500 pellets and I’ve probably shot that many. That got me thinking, I bet there’s shooters out there that’s shot a million pellets. I know there’s no way to know for sure, but have you or anybody you know shot a million pellets?

I save all my empties. I've never tallied them collectively, just totals by gun.

I'd estimate that I'm around half a million.

A million? Don't know, could be 🤔

Been shooting airguns since the 1960's - one summer I had a good cash flow from my lawn-cutting business and I filled a good sized cardboard packing box (3 cubic feet?) with empty pellet tins. 😁

Retired now, the shooting range (55 and 128 yard lanes) is in the backyard so time and opportunity means I shoot a lot. Guess I average 200 pellets per day when plinking casually and 300-500 when testing, tuning or (serious) target shooting.

Considering today's pellet prices, I'd rather not look too closely at how much shooting I do. 😳

Cheers!

Not me. After I had shot around 1000 pellets, all my shooting was either "in anger" pesting, zeroing optics or taking my son to the range. So my shooting has significantly slowed-down.

I got my start with firearms shooting 22LR. My uncles would regularly give me crates of 10,000 rounds, expecting me to mow down the pests on the farm. Even then, with 22LR I've probably shot less than 200,000 rounds.

Interesting thought, kind of like a million miler in my work industry. No way I’ve shot even close to a million. Have drove over a million for sure though.
