Gauntlet SL30 Barrel Replacement

So after being down from an injury I finally decided to clean the barrel I received from Thammer. First I ran a mop through it and it snagged towards the last few inches of the barrel. I ran a brush through it with a patch and the same thing happened. It got caught on something. Turned on my larger bore scope and maybe 2” from the end (exit side) of the barrel there’s a deep gouge that goes in deep, it removed 2 of the rifling ribs (not sure what you call them) Tried to slide a pellet through and it’s not making it past that gouge. So much for a replacement barrel. It looks like a screwdriver was pushed in there. Thammer I wish you would have at least looked down the barrel before finally sending it to me it’s visible without any special equipment to the naked eye.

Someone need a barrel to cut down? What a joke.

I received the barrel you shipped out. Yes, the inside barrel appears okay, minus a nice scratch in the lands on the bore side. However, you failed to check the barrels trueness. It’s warped at least a 1/6” on each end when I roll it on a machined mill table. The last one you sent plus my original are perfectly true. Were the competition barrels you made for Umarex warped as well? I’m sure you checked them before shipping them.

I don’t understand how you could let this happen to someone who waited so long to get your product that turned out to be unusable and then send them another one that’s also completely unusable. This one wouldn’t be accurate beyond 5 yards if that.

I’m not an air gun expert in any way. I am an expert marksman with multi high power caliber rifles that I work on, built, as with my competition 45’s for over 40 years. I’ve never ran into this situation in any capacity with any supplier of person ever. Not even for a replacement spring for a mag. All as expected or better.

You didn’t make these barrels I get it. Maybe you should tell people they’re “as is” so the buyer doesn’t have higher expectations from you. There are many people on this forum who come to your defense when there’s an issue with you. Which now I’m seeing a lot of. You need to stand behind the name they all praise. Or just stop making promises that you can’t keep. Maybe you are great at making barrels and air guns, but this gig isn’t one of them.

Please refund my purchase amount plus the cost to ship these two barrels back to you if you want them back. If not then just my purchase. This isn’t worth the time or frustration. I’ll buy another air rifle to solve the problem.
