This is the chrono I have used for several years with excellent results. I don't connect the USB cable anymore & just note the FPS and pellet weight for each shot. These figures are then entered into this excel file that I use with the PC.

This data nay help some folks.
FPS = Feet Per Second, MPS = Meters Per Second, FPE = Foot Pounds of Energy.
To convert to Joules multiply FPE by 1.3558, Joules to FPE multiply by .7376
To convert MPS to FPS, MPS x 3.2808399 = FPS .
To convert FPS to MPS, FPS x .3048 = MPS.
FPE Formula is Pellet weight (gr) x FPS x FPS divided by 450240 or 450436.7.
450240 is 2 x velocity of gravity x 7000, (2 x 32.16 x 7000 = 450240)
450436.7 is 2 x velocity of gravity x 7000, (2 x 32.17405 x 7000 = 450436.7)
The constant 450240 or 450436.7 depends on which value you use for the velocity of gravity, (acceleration due to gravity).
32.16 ft/s/s or 32.17405 ft/s/s. There are 7000 grains in one pound.
The difference does not matter which ever constant is used for the FPE calculation.

i use the cheap china one you just push one button and shoot a string . has never failed in the last 3 years .

Holler if you need anything... Yes - its a little more technie than the traditional shoot over chrony's, this is by design.
We didnt include a battery or a screen - as "everyone" has a mobile - which is the worlds best screen & has a battery. This allows us to make it more rugged & keep costs down.

The setup process is to connecting your device to the Chrono Wi-Fi, then scan a QR code. It will open your browser & off you go.
(no apps to install, only the wifi to configure)

5) I think it’s a good tool for newbies. If you order one be sure to read up on which adaptor comes with it and which one to order. They ship directly from Australia so if you think you might need several adapters combine shipping. If you think you might want one, buy it before international delivery slows down for the holidays. For me, delivery was 4 or 5 days faster than expected and was about a week as I recall.

I bought the Nate Chrony and am using with relatively new ipad (within 5 year window). Records data as expected but when I download the shoot data, it doesn’t go into Files. Is this a quirk of the combination of the two. Ipad also won’t process 192…. address but I can work around that. Should be able to from downloaded csv in Files to Sheets or Numbers. Any suggestions?

Its an issue with Apple & Apple alone (as usual - they refuse to do standards)
When you download the data, its stored in a CSV file - this format has been around since the early 70's... before personal computers!

Opens in MS excel perfectly, opens in google sheets perfectly, OpenOffice you click twice - commas & spaces & it opens perfectly.... Apple cant do it.

Have a look for some doco or videos on how to open CSV files, there's probably an "import" type of process.

Lots have issue with apple .. now anazon stuff probably the same that is proprietary and not as open source as Android so program /app/ software developers can easily write stuff..

Frustrating!
FYI - any spreadsheet style app *should* be able to open it, MS Excel, sheets & open office open it directly, others may need an "import" process to make it format perfectly & interpret the formatting.
