Do You Shoot Airguns With Any Women?

I was just wondering where the airgun women are? I hardly see any. I’m used to shooting alone, so I don’t frequent ranges and I don’t attend competitions. The only recognizable names I see competing are Lauren, Barb, and Jessica. If you halfway keep up with any of the larger competitions you probably know who these women are. Are there any more around?

My daughter shooting her HW-30 and my TX 200… she loves it! And she’s a shooter!

My own daughters will shoot with me once in a while. They both have their own pcp rifles from when they were younger. They are both grown adults now. All of my shooting buddies are men and none of their wives seem interested in taking part.

About three times a year we head to my sisters in Va for shooting and pickleball. My sister will shoot some but my niece is adamant about shooting. If you knew their professional lives you would think no way. They are both good. Real good. I posted this pic before but one year my niece put a big dent in the cicada population. She just sat there scanning the trees and dropping them.

@Vetmx I recall you posting pics of one of yall's get-togethers. What type of gun is she shooting? Looks like a pistol with a rifle stock.

My daughter is a shooter since about age 10 (now 21).... but all powder burners. She's very petite and is still assumed to be about 14 years old. She can outshoot most of the people at the range out to 300 yards.

This was with a 6.5-Creedmoor at age 18.

Before that her first shot with an AR-15 at 100 yards at age 14, and first time ever 300 yards (6.5 Creedmoor) at age 15:

She loves the attention she gets at the range because of her (unexpected) marksmanship. And I'm not a proud dad or nothin'! ;)

I just got my first "grown-up" air rifle (Benjamin Marauder) a couple of weeks ago. And she has yet to shoot it. But I have a feeling she will like it! Stay tuned!

I used to go shooting and out hunting with my daughter quite a bit. Sadly, she’s no longer with us—we lost her in a car accident. She was a cracking shot, too. In general, I reckon women make pretty solid shooters. There aren’t loads of them about, but the ones I know can more than hold their own—often gave us a proper run for our money. They’re not so serious about it, and I suppose that’s a plus. That said, I’m quite glad my wife’s not into shooting. Love her to bits, but that’s one part of my life I’d rather keep to myself.

Damn... so sorry to hear that. That hits me. My daughter (in previous comment) went through leukemia from age 11 - 14.

Your daughter is still with you at the range.

Spot on Paul. We have 3 ladies who shoot off-and-on with us at our weekly shoots in my back yard, and they can all more than hold their own with an air rifle. And that special whoop that they let out - when they have 'stolen' a target from a guy shooter, vaporized a lolipop, or cleaned the Know Your Limits target set out at 50. Just pure joy.

My wife also shoots air rifles a little bit and when we have family or friends at the house, ladies seem to love to shoot the airguns. And heck, the range is there and set up anyway, so why not get some more use out of it?

Due to schedules, health or other things, some of our regular lady shooters haven't been shooting as frequently as they did in the past. So I used that as part of my excuse to spend the money on the new camo Yeti target we named "Huevos." He resides out on the 50 yard range now, and I was hoping that he might be seen as a 'special' target just for the ladies. Of course the first week we had Huevos on the range, no lady shooters showed up. So one of the guys had to play the role of 'honorary lady shooter' that week.

It’s actually a gun I built for my mom. Started as a PP800. Got a LW barrel, reg plus other internal stuff and then I had to design a trigger system so I could put it in a stock. It’s an extremely accurate .177. So I guess I forgot to add my mom to the women’s shooting club.
