New FT rifle /scope suggestion

You do realize there's probably at least a years wait on one of Mike Niksch(THOMAS) rifles. Definately worth the wait but you may want to consider another option if you wanted it this FT season

I just got off the phone with Mike and placed the order. He said it is currently over a year’s wait.
Now to decide what to get for this year that’s readily available.

Thats nice! I ordered black but Mike said only certain parts are black. The rest silver.

What buttstock is that? He said he doesn’t supply one.

I like the silver/ black too…grey laminate cheek piece and grip….worth the wait. John

I ordered my Thomas in January of 2024; anticipate delivery 8 June 2025. 17 months but to me, Worth the wait.
I’ve owned two other Thomas’s - one a bench rest model and the other a full sized field target model I purchased until my new carbine sized Thomas is delivered.
I’m downsizing to the carbine length to reduce weight.

My Thomas should arrive soon after yours. I just ordered a HW97K from AoA to shoot HFT this year. Should be a fun year waiting for the Thomas!

Yes, I think that's all they sell now. There is a HP version, but that's too powerful for FT and I'm told that you can't detune it.

That’s a great looking gun. I went with a HW97 with upgraded wood. Really nice piece of walnut. Going the HFT route for this year with a springer while Mike builds my Thomas.

JW uses one. As long as it's under 25 inches overall, and the barrel is under 15 inches? Or was it 12? Go to the AAFTA website for clarification.

Yes but you have to remove the shroud to stay under the length limit.

I'm happy I bought my 15" barreled Thomas FT to avoid buying a seperate pistol but it's some work switching it back and forth for PFT and FT.

I must mention using it in PFT is almost unfair to the competition.
