This spotter is something I’d been contemplating for months. I have communicated with several members about various types of glass. The member that has helped me make my decision here is @boscoebrea. I hope he doesn’t mind me mentioning him. He was kind enough to answer my questions and lend useful advice on what to consider or where to look for more information.
These can be purchased as package deals with the scope body and eyepiece. Or you can purchase the scope body and use a 1.25” eyepiece that you may already own. It accepts fixed and zoom eyepieces. They even make wide angled eye pieces for a wider FOV if you need it.The eyepiece pictured is a 20x - 60x zoom. For me the eye relief takes some getting used to. I’m enjoying the IQ though. At max magnification I think I’m seeing some chromatic aberration. Kinda soon to say so conclusively.
I previously used a cheap Simmons spotter (that I will still use) for short to medium-range shooting. With my Pentax, I intend to use it for small caliber shooting, and 100+ yard target shooting to see pellet/slug holes. I’ll probably use it for scouting and just watching Animals and insects in nature. This glass seems pretty nice In comparison to my Simmons. I guess I can post more about it as I discover things to share. I didn’t see much about this spotter on AGN so I figured “why not create a thread for this optic?” I figured “All Other Gear“ would be a better category since this is not a gun scope.
