Snowpeak Max 1 power disappointing

Advertised power was 120j/88fpe with .22 slugs

I'm getting 90j/66fpe with .25 46gr slugs or .25 33.8gr pellets with factory setup

Anyone getting close to advertised power on their Max 1?
I'm with ya on being a little underwhelmed.

I think the first batch they made a mistake with the transfer ports. As I said in the other thread the barrel TP is 4mm which is small. If it gets opened up I'm sure it'll put out more power.

The hammer weight is heavier then the Zelos and it's got a big plenum. I haven't taken the valve out yet will try to this weekend and see what measurements it has but I'm guessing the culprit is the small TPs.

As is, at 210bar I'm getting 70 fpe but I should be able to get that at a much lower reg setting.

My Zelos with a tungsten hammer, 700mm FX liner and the C88 valve does 55-60fpe with no plenum extension at 160bar

First country to get them was Brazil and a few of the videos the guys didn't get the mags for them and were single loading for their videos. I think Wes has the same issue but got them to send the mags. I think Snowpeak rushed them out and I'm guessing they had some QA issues. Upside the fit and finish is good and the trigger is better.

I've YET to see any airguns perform as the company states (for example, Hatsan has always overstated). By the time they get to us something happens to those "in a perfect world" numbers. Accuracy & consistency is the real goal. Imo forget the numbers.
I on the other hand have several.
Gauntlet G30
Evanix Sniper X2
Airforce Talon and Condor
AEA Terminator .30

Frankly my Hatsan Barrage was damn close.

As for accuracy and consistency that was a secondary consideration to a dedicated slug thrower with very impressive power numbers.

Thanks, I'll await your results.

It is well put together and the trigger is a good feel right out of the box. I'm not one that likes too soft a trigger.

I do like the BIG magazine, 18 rounds on .25 from the mfg. Usually have to buy aftermarket to get that big a magazine.

As for issues, 5 months late sorta dangled the clue for me.

Cranking it up was next on my todo list. Mine looks to be factory set as has been reported to 190bar. I'll probably go up to 220bar.

Appears to have a hammer spring adjustment. Although given proximity to magazine I'm not 100% sure.

That's the HST. You can adjust it without taking the bracket off. Just loosen the adjustable shoulder bit and you can adjust it. It doesn't take much force to adjust.

Barrels are a smaller OD so cant swap between Zelos barrels :(. I was hoping they would be. Upside though, the 13mm barrels are a lot lighter then the 15mm Zelos barrels.

Did I understand correctly that the Max 1 has a pressurized shroud barrel?

Yeah, figured that out when I put the butt plate back on.

Then I had to find the adjusting screw for the pressure.

Inside the 2 slot picatinny rail. Since I had an adapter for my ARCA rail on that it was not obvious.

are the barrels actually 13mm ? or 13.5mm. I thought I read on another post.
