These things hit hard @ 27-55 yards for sure. Take a look at the deformation of slugs after hitting a spinner at 27 yards and grouped on same tune for my 18gr pellets. Of course holdover is different but man it shows promise.

I load up Altaros slugs when I want to use my .22 LR active targets. My usual .22 pellets don't carry enough energy.

Those 32.3gr Smooths are a great projectile!
You must have a faster twist barrel in your gun. I have 17.7 and one is a 15.75 and both work fine.
Ha, I also grab any old cardboard box and don't bother putting a bullseye on it most of the time.
