FX barrel liner strangeness !!

Just bought a new barrel kit for my Crown, a 380mm 177 pellet barrel, and the liner is marked 1:28 Superior?? I didn't know there was any 177 liner that is more than 1:18 twist??
FX seems to be making all kinds of liners and you never know what you're going to get. I'm not griping, as I do think long twist liners are the future of pellet shooting, and most manufacturers have not caught on yet. Almost every 177 barrel made is 1"17.7" or close to it, and while they shoot fine, it's when you stretch out the distance that you can see the long twist barrels take the lead. If you're only shooting 25-40 yards, anything will do.

Can you post a picture of the laser engraving? If you want to shoot slugs then I’ll be happy to trade you my 1:18 liner. 😁

Well, I'm pretty darn sure from measuring it's 1:24, so a misprint.
I'm kind of on the fence about it, after a fair amount of testing, it shows some signs of greatness, then will throw a flyer or two. In all fairness, the weather and wind has been horrendous lately and it's possible it's just me not being patient and seeing what it can do.

Well, I pulled out my trusty 177 500mm Crown barrel and within a couple of minutes, I was shooting one hole groups at 35 yards. So it looks like the 380mm needs some break-in or a look-see at the leade.
Yes, its a standard twist rate. I found crossman premier 10.5 grain brown box to be the most accurate pallet on my 700mm .177 liner.

Hi Bob,

According to this europeanairguns website, the 20187 is the part number for an FX .177 380mm liner…

… however, this site specifies that there are two twist rates (1:18 and 1.28) available for .177 - and that you need to call their customer service to specify a twist rate.

It would seem that FX should make the twist rate part of the part number - to avoid confusion when ordering…. for example 20187_18 or 20187_28.

Thanks for the info, and now I have to wonder how far off I was in measuring it, as I would have bet money I wasn't off 4", but it seems I was. Anyway, I got some good advice on upping my reg pressure a bit for shorter barrels and seeing what that does for accuracy. I've been shooting my DreamTac 25 a lot lately and will get back to the short Crown in a bit.
Thanks again for the info.
