New Air Gunner Here

Hey there, new here and new to the air gun world. Not sure what I got myself into tbh, this is much more expensive than any of my hunting firearm set ups .

I started looking into it as I was interested in night time coyote hunting, the quietness of everything is appealing, and much to my surprise I'm thousands of $$ into this now and fully committed. Anyway thought I would stop by and say hi and start getting some posts under my belt. I would like to pick up some good deals in the classifieds section as well as maybe put some of my extras on there too.

Here's some of my airgun pic of what I have collected so far. looking to probably add a upper end .22 cal to the collection soon

.51 cal megalodon
.30 cal Macavity Arms
holoson red dot wit 3x magnifier
Hawke 4-12x40
zulus 5-20 LRF IR
Donny FL emperor moderator
Impulse air moderator
MDT GRND POD
CV Life bipod

and a few other odds and ends to get the ball rolling (compressor, bottle, etc.....)

you have good tastes... joining the airgun community is a secondary bonus.

Welcome to AGN. I’ve learned a lot about airgun shooting and how far it’s come since I was kid. Lots of good people here. I’m going to be a bit contrary and say that I wouldn’t use an airgun to shoot coyotes. Strictly my opinion and many will disagree but if I’m going to shoot an animal I want it going down instantly and not running away to die a slow death. I feel confident that will happen with a good centerfire but not confident enough for an air rifle at a distance of more than about 30-40 yards. For me a 30/30, .308, .270, something like that is my go to for dealing with anything bigger than a raccoon. It looks like you have some excellent rifles there, enjoy.

Fair points and I do agree with only taking ethical shots. I usually go with a buddy one of us on long range with a 243 or a 6.5 creed, the other on short range which would be with an air rifle, shotgun, or 9 mm carbine. going solo with only a pcp would be closer range only.
