Crazy price of used guns

He knows that Gamo is now making
"cphps" they're marketing gamo HPs under the Crosman Premier label. 7.9CPHP is now 7.6CPHP which were the Gamo HPs.
I don't know about .22 yet. But the old CPHP .177 are about to go bye bye
If Daisy bought out Crosman I wonder why they wouldn't also own the pellet making equipment and continue using it to produce the pellets?

I know prices,I know what it takes do custom something ,money and time spent.Truthfully the only thing I can not do is make a stock.I think we are talking more about the time involved to do something right. Also wouldn't you want to keep the gun you fixed up for yourself?
Custom stocks usually cost more than the gun it is made for.
Your work is free ,Thank you.🤣
Custom stocks are another whole issue. If I were to sell a rifle, I would put the original stock on it and sell the custom stock separately. I've bought lots of guns just for the wood.

IMO, used accessories add no value to the gun. Tuning? Less. I don’t place any value on someone screwing around with all the settings and modifying who knows what. I’d rather buy a bone stock unmolested rifle .
It depends who is putting them on and doing the work. Sometimes in the classifieds you will see modified guns, by known high quality tuners (AZ, DW) and those guns, if just used by the seller are worth more than new most of the time and are resolved and problem free, if the seller is a well known member with a good rep. The point is you have to really follow everything and everyone, and if you do you can find good deals. Yeah, it might not be worth 'your' trouble, but it could certainly be worth someone else's.

Not to toot my own horn but this made selling rifles at the beginning of last year much easier, My paradigm and mini, were basically sold within minutes and I touched base with both owners earlier this year, neither has touched a setting since they purchased them over a year ago. It wasn't just those two either, the MK2 .22 75FPE Impact I built and sold, that one went insanely fast. Members and rifles with a following will sell faster and/or for more.

If you are actually part of this community and use the classifieds like the way it was intended, you recognize names of sellers and feel comfortable with however the transaction moves forward. If you chose to get the minimum posts and use the classifieds as your airgun Craigslist, good luck. You might get cleaned out. Or just have someone plain old not willing to sell to you.

Point taken. I've read the forum for years just don't post much. I'm trying to participate more, contribute anything I can, and maybe snag a deal on a compact 22.

Hi Mikelo123

I love those rare NIB posts that claim the gun shoots as it should and very accurate. :ROFLMAO:
I've given lots of good deals and have received lots of good deals also in the classifieds. With how much I bought and sold I simply have pretty much bought only used guns the last few years. If I take a hit it's alot less than a new gun. And lucky for me the guns I tend to like are "older" tech guns with no fancy doodads and bunch of knobs to turn. Ones without external reg adjustments and all that stuff cause if it's usually hard to get to 95% of people will leave it as is and shoot it. On the other hand you get the infinitely adjustable guns where people who shouldn't be touching things as they have no clue go hog wild on them and who knows what you'll get yourself into.

But yeah as said on the prices, some people just don't really want to sell their guns. They might be up for sale but prices say otherwise.
I agree I’d much rather buy a stock gun and let a more nolegable person than myself do the tuning. I have only owned 1 pcp ,and it shot great right out of the box. (If it ain’t broke don’t fix it!)

what are your interests ?
I got my first pcp about 11 years ago. I bought a used FX Bobcat on the old yellow forum and had a blast shooting that in .25. I love target shooting but it worked equally well on some pesky ground squirrels.

Then we had two kids and more than a decade has passed. I think my son is ready to have some fun this summer learning to shoot. I wanted to get an FX Impact M4 to shoot slugs this time and go 100 yards or further.

Sorry again for breaking the rules but the .30 sniper was exactly what I wanted And I panicked.

cool you can teach him how to shoot , do you still have the Bobcat ? (few more minutes and you will have 10 posts then just the wait till Friday ? for 10 days )

I see a lot of retail prices for used guns and figure they're not too serious about selling. When I do find something for a good price I realize not enough posts to PM and not familiar with the process.

Does everyone Paypal the funds first and trust the seller ships the gun? Most of the sellers are probably honest but seems kinda risky for the buyer.
No risk at all .. the member has NO Feedback .. you simply don't buy no matter how good the price is .. 15 Feedback or less cheap items $120 or less 30 Feedback n more with expensive items, then you could feel better about doing business with that member..

The used gun market is always a gamble. And that’s why used is always so much discounted to new.

As stated above there are very few Motorheads out here. However what there is an abundance of is pricks trying to rip off honest people. This is why most used guns sell for 1/2 new, the buyer is assuming all the risk.

Sure it’s a great deal, ya it looks good in the picture, then it shows up in the box looking like it came out Godzilla’s asshole. And that is why buying and selling is a game of loss, I can for sure say that I have lost way more money in this game in the search for the “next best thing”

Truth is, if you can be happy with what you got your going to be much better off

It‘s not just private parties doing weird stuff with used gear. I was once in New York at Adorama buying a used lens and the guy tried to sell me one with a scratch right across the front. He said you’ll never see it. I never bought used from them again.

The catch-22 of AGN. If you want to sell on AGN you need to have sold a bunch of items on AGN.
