RTI Short barrel in a long shroud, will it work?

I have a standard Prophet Performance 2.1 with a 24" barrel. Can I put a 20" barrel in it and safely shoot it with that extra 4" of empty shroud?

I do not have your gun, but i do have a gun shooting thru about 12 inches of baffled shroud/moderator if it gives you any hope

Similar here.....barrel only sticks into about 1/3 of the shroud on the Ghost .20, I'm probably up around 20,000 shots through it now, without any issues. As long as youve got a sufficiently designed front and rear shroud support/alignment system, I can't see a reason for any issues.

The RTI Prophet has a great barrel support. Being only 4" short, I'm going to go for it. Thanks for the help.

Depends on caliber. With my .30 RTI, 4” of dead space was a no go.

I often swap between my 24 and 20 inch RTI barrels. No problem so far. So long as I fit the correct shroud end cap.

Yes it's a .177. I have the whole barrel kit with the correct end cap. I'm going down the .177 Prophet Performance 2.1 shooting slugs rabbit hole.
