Longer barrel and open up the transer port for a little more power. Steel breech is a little more accurate and allows a scope. Better piston will build more power with more pumps, but you have to work for it.

Pumper to PCP doesn't make much sense. You could have started with a 2240.
Thanks CM, I am definitely considering the breech and port. Maybe the longer barrel down the road. Regarding the model, I found it in a house cleanout so that is what I have.

I personally don't get the PCP conversion, it defeats the simplicity of a pumper, but to each their own. I put on a Steel breech (with a scope or Williams Peep), worked on the trigger mech by polishing only, and a hollow bolt probe on a 2289. I'm done and when the time comes if the valve/piston needs replacing I'll upgrade then.
Thank you simplemann, curious what the hollow bolt probe is and what it does?

End goal would be more power and decent accuracy.
Longer barrel, hammer spring adjuster, and the carbine stock would be a great start. There are plenty of other things you can do. Those 3 give you the advantage of a rifle for accuracy, the longer barrel will increase fps, and the adjuster will let you dial in the hammer spring to make sure you completely empty the valve.

Thank you Hold Over, I have the carbine stock but it just doesn’t feel right, I’m a pretty big guy and it makes me scrunch up. I can rest the pistol on a support though. I’ll check out the spring adjuster and barrel though. Is there a brand of barrel that stands out among the aftermarket offers that will fit in a steel breech?

like the Crosman 2240 the pumpers are fully customizable and what it takes is a plan and lots of money
there are just a few of the custom shops that were around 10-15 years ago but Alliance Hobby has much of the goody's you might be looking for
the plan i spoke of is to keep you from doing it over and over again filling your parts boxes full of extra parts
you can end up with a 2-3-4 hundred dollar pistol
i have a 2240 with it's Swift scope is over 800 bucks
so set a budget make up a plan and build your pistol

Thanks for the warning, I pretty much figured that the cost could go up quick. I have a plan: wooden furniture, enlarged port, real sights, steel breach.

Hi folks, I just ordered the new breach and now looking for red dot options. I found a few reasonably priced options but it’s rare to see a direct mount to the dovetail. I see the adapters which I’ve used before but I am trying to keep the profile as low as possible. Any suggestions for a red dot with a dovetail mount built in? I see a cheap BSA that would do the job, budget is about $100. Thanks in advance.
