Per the title of this thread - I just got my new gun yesterday (Friday 05 April) and did some very early testing with it today with the little bit of ammo I happen to have available.
I bought it from Talon Tunes and asked Tony to tune it so that I could get 32 - 34 grain slugs flying out of it 970-990'ish fps. They (apparently) tuned it using some altaros slugs in that weight range and had to dial the reg up to around 155 bar to achieve that velocity. Great. Gun arrives - I start looking through what I have available here in the house - a tin of .217 H&N's @30g. I get a scope on it and get a rough zero and then start sending some of these H&N's - I didn't run it over a chrony so I honestly have no idea how fast they're going. It was stupid windy out today too so definitely not a day for doing any kind of real true accuracy / testing. These H&N's shot pretty good at 30 and 50 yards given the wicked l-r cross wind I was dealing with. I don't plan on buying the altaros slugs - I looked and they seem kinda pricey . . . NSA's are probably the best bang for the buck ( thank you Nick & Family ) but I'm game for ZAN's, Patriots, etc . . . . I had heard / read that Zan has sample packs now - I googled and sure enough they do. I might look into some of those (a .217 and .218 pack).
So . . . for you guys who have this gun and are shooting slugs with it - I'm just curious to hear what is working for you and at what speed. If / when we ever get nice weather again ( seriously starting to wonder about that . . . {sigh} - Upstate N.Y. ) I'll obviously run it over a chrony and do some 'proper' testing / tuning - but hoping to maybe get some ball park data from you guys in advance.
