I recently acquired a Beeman RX. I does not cock so I can only assume the gas ram leaked out. I was browsing flea bay and noticed a couple of gas rams that may be a drop in replacement? Was wondering if anyone has gone this route?
I’d say both. Zero resistance upon cocking and no trigger movement, maybe very slight slack but that’s about it.No sir those won't work!
I suggest sending it to David Slade at Airgun Werks in Tennessee for a rebuild!
Is there pressure against the barrel when trying to cock it? Or it won't latch on the trigger sear?
Thanks for the link!German like a rx1 ?
No expert but that ram is servicable
I think you'd be best served rebuilding that theobin ram and techarging it
Look around forums
This guy has a bit on doing it in a few threads here
Also downloads on some how to's
RX, Santa Rosa if I remember correctly. Thank for the info!If it's a German made Rx, Rx1 or Rx2. The gas piston which is really an air piston is easily rebuildable with readily available O-rings. I had an Rx1 a few years ago. The pressurized piston assembly is very simple. The hardest part is fishing out the inertia weight. Which is often stuck forward. The very early RXs had an aluminum dummy piston and an early elite trigger. The later RXs were often RX1s but only marked RX. The difference was a steel dummy piston and usually the later Elite 2 trigger. The easiest way to tell is see if a magnet sticks the the receiver end plug were the fitting plug is. If you need help pm me
I've never seen an RX that wasn't rebuildable. Do you have any pictures of the one you are talking about? Did HW use a strut system on them?RX1 has the digit 1 stamped on the end of the compression tube. RX1 and2 are rebuildable, RX is a replacement unit.
