What Paper Target Did You Shoot Today

i thought it was the opposite...very good to know. I will take more notice when they vent the range. People do not believe there is wind in an indoor range...there is. Wish my hearing was better so i can hear the vents going on and off, or something that gives me a "tell" on the conditions..but i am not aware of how to gauge this indoors.
Thank you for all the suggestions..have them all written down

If a 2mph breeze is blowing sideways at your muzzle this veers the pellet off course immediately and it will continue that off course trajectory all the way to the target. If the same breeze is blowing 10’ from the target it only has 10’ to move off course and not 50y or 100y. Hope that makes sense?

Thomas, I admire your dedication! That card is really good in those conditions! I am an avid golfer and when there are windy conditions I know for a fact that my scores will be higher, how much, depends on the wind and me and I still go out there like you! 🤗
Hello @Ranchibi

Thank you, the main thing with me is NOT the score but the opportunity to shoot. Then if I get to shoot, I try as hard as I can to do the very best that I can. The weather is so nice ( 74f today ) that I will take the wind 😁 .

10 Meter Air Pistol Target from 10 meters, one handed, offhand. Crosman 2300KT .22 and Crosman Hollow Points. A whole boatload of flyers. I have a very good excuse for them, I just haven't figured out what it could be. Couldn't be me, could it?

Hello @sjs

I see a lot of holes in the black so your offhand shooting is very good.

No range time for today, so I gave off hand a whirl again. I will need to practice more using a figure 8. Was trying to force the loop instead of a consistent motion. They must go over that for hours to get it ingrained into their muscle memory. The FX 400 is a nice lightweight air rifle that is very easy to shoot. I really liked the looks of this model, before FX went Bullpup on most of their models. Anyways…target is looking better. I will get that 50 with a little more practice…lot more…lol

Mike, I am THE WORST offhand shooter in the history of offhand shooting...😂...a fantastic old time hunter told me to slowly raise the rifle and once your POI hits the middle of the crosshairs, take the shot....I still am terrible but not as terrible...😂👍

Hello everyone,

Great shooting conditions early this morning before the sun rises above the trees. I figured that I had better shoot some paper targets before the winds get to blowing too much so I set some targets out at 25-yards. Shot a few times at a warm up target and the Sniper XR was shooting so good that I decided to shoot an 8 by 8 Competition target.

Range: Outdoor 25-Yards
Rifle: Brocock Sniper XR .22 caliber
Scope: Athlon Argos BTR Gen2 10-40x56
Pellets: JSB Jumbo Heavy 18.13gr Resized 5.53
FPS: 834
FPE: 28
Wind: 0 to 5 mph

Not good — GREAT! That gun of yours can really shoot (well part of it is the operator - I'll give you that!) Keep it up Thomas.

Fantastic percision. You really have some fine shoting rifles in your collection. Must make ya smile!
Hope to get to the range today .. one more round of slugs to test .
I Did a pre-order for the new JSB's for some of the Grands and the shallow skirt MRD. Anxious to see how those test out.
Fantastic card. Top class shooting Thomas

Hello @rsfrid

Thank you, but I just opened a new 500 piece Tin and these pellets are even worst than the previous Tins. My poor little Sniper is struggling trying to shoot this new batch. I re-sized enough for four mags and cannot get a consistent group :( . Oh well ......

I'm sort of going thru that stage with my Brocock Atomic. At first it was a one hole shooter, but lately best it can do is 2 moa! i found the speed had dropped (it likes 700fps, not higher or lower) it had dropped to the 600s. So I adjusted the hammer to get it back up. It did better. Now I'm going to adjust air stripper in and out to see if that changes things. I've gone thru tins of various pellets and it’s getting expensive. Especially when I can throw floor sweepings in my HW44 and it will shoot them into same hole! Ain't this hobby fun? 🤪🫢🙄

Hello @rsfrid

How about .... FRUSTRATING ....

Even with the JSB bad pellets, I could re-size them and shoot some really good groups. You have seen some of the cards that I have posted here. Today I have shot over 200 re-sized and Not re-sized of these "new" pellets and cannot get 3 shots on a bull  . I cleaned my barrel last week and the second patch was clean, so the barrel is in great shape. If I wasn't shooting off of my Rifle Rack, I would blame it on me  . I just don't know. I gave up because I did not want to get mad, but I believe I will try again now.

Try weighing them to really tight tolerances before resizing.

Quickly mounted a red dot on the Doubleshot this morning. Might be shooting a bit high at 20 yards yet. But here are my results. The TSS #9 in the Air Venturi capsule totally blow the Air Venturi #6 shot capsules away. I also made up a few different paper capsules of my own with the #6 lead shot. They came out pretty good and shot well. You can easily get twice the same lead shot in the paper capsules. Will do more testing with them using TSS. But that’s another day. If my pictures turn up in the correct order.
Picture
#1 will be #6 lead in AV capsules for 170gn (88 BBs) at 20 yards
#2 will be #9 TSS in AV capsules for 300 gn (250 BBs) at 20 yards
#3 will be #9 TSS in AV capsule for 300 gn (250 BBs) AT 15 yards
44 will be my paper capsuls with 255 gn (about 125 BBs) at 15 yards

Hello @Quad82

WOW! Number 3 and 4 the #9 TSS are krazy good groups. I would hate to be a Turkey in your neighborhood 😁 🦃. Sure looks like a tight pattern at those two distances. Thanks for sharing.

I went back for more 100 yard testing. I tried out the 17.5 NSA’s, but was shooting the much too hot. I would Need to back off the regulator and hammer for these. Also looked at the ZAN’s in 20g..that was not a match for this barrel. I need up using the FX hybrids for the 2 paper 100yd MOA target. Had to compensate for the venting, so I was not directly aiming on target. The results are getting better, but not quite there yet. I will try reducing the fps a little more and try again tomorrow.
