New here. Question about pellet rifle scopes

Yes, there are reasonably priced airgun scopes that will hold up on springers. UTG, Leapers, and Hawke scopes come to mind.

Some of the older Bushnell 1" tubed scopes are springer rated. Make sure you get something with adjustable paralax, on the objective or side focus. An essential feature for airgun scopes shooting at traditional airgun ranges.

Other members are no doubt sure to chime in with other more contemporary suggestions. Hope this helps -
My Hatsan 95 QE destroyed my Bushnell scope. It was an older 1 inch tube 3x9 with paralax adjustment.

Years ago I busted some cross hairs on Tasco and Simmons with a RWS 48. I went to airgun express here in Iowa and the owner led me to a Bushnell Banner 3-9x40? It had a double braced cross hair meaning it was tack welded on both front and back.
This was before etched glass reticles had become so common and inexpensive. He educated me on the fact that spring guns have both a forward and reverse recoil because of he action of the piston and that's what kills the wire cross hairs.
The forward recoil not the reverse. So double braced wire reticle is what I used to look for until etched glass made it to primetime.
Now most that have etched glass "should" be good to go.

you joined in 2017 and this is your first post ?
After thinking it over I realized I joined back then was probably about an old cheap Winchester/daisy .177 break barrel air rifle I had. The thing was terrible with open sights. I couldn’t even get it to penetrate the skin of half-inch drywall. Then I completely forgot I had a profile from back then.

Have any of you fellas tried the Vortex Crossfire 2 scopes? They claim to be rated for break barrel air rifles. From what I understand Vortex has a decent reputation.
I have a Vortex Crossfire 2 Scope on my HW 35 since 2019. Just recently took it off to shoot with irons. However the HW 35 has mild recoil. However I would not hesitate to use one my RWS 350 which as a lot of recoil if my UTG 4x16 scope would break. I will probably stick the Vortex on a firearm I plan to purchase. On a firearm forum I visit, the shooters praise the Vortex warranty but some do have issues that Vortex promptly fixes or replaces. However for the price point, many agree that Vortex scopes are a good value and quality. I liked the warranty and quality so much that I also bought a Vortex range finder.

Sorry to hear that, but I've had good luck with them on QUALITY magnum springers. Never owned a Hatsan, never will.

I don't remember the exact model of my Bushnell scope, but it was a 3x9x40 with a hi gloss finish and adjustable objective. I had read on here that it was good for springers, so I used it on the Hatsan "Nitro Piston" crack barrel. It worked well for a good while, then it started falling apart. The AO screws came loose but were all there, so I tightened them back up, and moved the scope to a Beeman Chief, PCP rifle.
The Chief would never zero, so I thumped the scope to find the cross hairs moving point of aim.

BTW The Hatsan was thrown away because the Nitro Piston leaked, I discovered I could refill it and get weekend shoot out of it.

It eventually failed to hold air at all, but the Grandkids got quite a few good weekends out of it before it returned to its original trash state. Unfortunately it took the scope with it. 👍
