Bullshark shoot very accurately and consistently as it comes out of the box (after cleaning). No need to add anything. I have 3, one in each caliber.

I'll also add that the bull sharks have a very high shot count, as an example, well over 100, more like 160 or so in .177

I've commonly heard "if it ain't broke don't fix it". Having extensive experience with Bullsharks in .177, .22 and .25, I suggest that you take a great gun out of the box and choose the right pellet (every gun has a favorite, which can vary between even those of the same make and model and caliber. In .177, my best results were with H&N Baracuda Power in 10.65 grains. The XM1 Bullshark is not a gun that you tinker with. It's almost perfect as it is. If you want more power go to a larger caliber. You can turn pigs ear into a silk skirt.

If you want more speed go to a lighter weight pellet however most pellets shou best between 820 and 870 ft./s. Most Diablo pellets will tumble on its way to the target at higher velocities so stay within the range I suggest for the most accuracy. Remember as you exceed 1100 ft./s, you approach the speed of sound which is not good for the flight of the pellet in terms of accuracy and also creates a loud "crack" sound as it breaks the speed of sound. Take my advice, it's been learned and taught through the school of hard knocks.

I don't shoot pellets in mine. It's a slug gun. It gets Knockouts almost exclusively.

The XM1 Bullshark is not a slug gun. It's optimized for pellets. You'll need it considerably more powerful gun to accurately and consistently shoot slugs. A longer barrel as well inasmuch as the Bullshark's barrel is only 16 inches. If you want a very powerful PCP airgun at the same price point as the Stoeger XM1 Bullshark, get a Gauntlet 2 or the soon to be available Stoeger XM1 Ranger.

You're mistaken, I'm afraid. Mine has a 21 inch barrel and it's a slug shooting machine. I've shot several 100 yard moa groups with 10.03 and 13.43 Knockouts.

I'm delighted to hear of your slug results!
The actual barrel length for XM1 Bullshark is 19.25". For slugs, you usually should want at least 23" (600mm) with 26" or longer recommended. Rifling on XM1 Bullshark is not optimized for slugs, it's optimized for pellets.
The rifling for all calibers of XM1 Bullshark is 1:480mm or 1:18.9

It appears we were both initially wrong. I measured mine and it is 19.25 like you said in your reply. I checked my barrel several times and it appeared to be 1:21 twist but I wasn't positive that was correct. It's tough getting a good fit in these tiny barrels to get positive rotation. Stoeger isn't exactly forthcoming with the specifications on these guns.
There are several of us shooting slugs in .177 Bullsharks with excellent results. They might not be optimized for them, but they sure shoot them well. It's shooting 10.3s at 1000 fps and 13.43s in the 890s.

I’m about to try some 13 zans, H&N, and some 12.5 NSAs, as soon as it stops blowing hurricane force winds here. I’m very optimistic

The NSAs are too hard for my tastes. I wanted a slug that would expand well and NSA slugs just icepick through.

Nielsen 26.8s expanded in wet paper in my tests. They are 25 caliber. Two of 3 expanded nicely and one got basically flat on top. They were going about 850 fps.

Obviously you can take the weight and use the velocity to determine the amount of energy. If you have a list of specifications that you want, please precisely enumerate them and I'll do what I can to get the info for you.
