Tresspassing and trespasser private property advise

Didn't know where to post.. My family has 96 acres of property here in fayete County pa..The property is actually a wonderful wildlife estate or excellent candidate for some white Tail habit management. The problem is a small patch town is in the middle of our property.. They do whatever they want..They have threatened me...harassed me...I got the ON X app and posted all borders with signs purple paint and purple tape...A combination of all three...You can't rip paint off trees.... The neighbor directly besides my 40 acre parcel....shot a 160 inch buck last year... I literally followed the blood trail tape for.that buck going through my field.. Where they trespass the most ATV gas line...I cut 30 ft of trees brush briars....to block access to property..... They came in worked and removed it all......ahhhhhhhh.......the other side of gas line on my property blocked quad trail with T-post purple tape Posted signs....as soon as I left... The trespassers came back with T post puller and stole my post...unblock. Trail.... The trespassers are sad to say grown me 40 and 60 years old of above middle class... I'm disabled just starting to get around...Im not able to financially or physically able to build gates and fences for them to deconstruct when I leave.. I don't now if I can camera trap them......Last year when the 160 inch buck was shot by neighbor... My nephew found corn bait piles on my property... Close.to trespassers house 100 yards... Game commission called...they removed bait piles.. The trespassers uses many cell cams and monitors one way road ...they know when I'm on my way to property..... I gotta stop stop.them or sell property.... Thanks for any advice and letting me vent...this forum has been so good to me and so much appreciated.....

This all needs to be documented with law enforcement. Not an airgun forum. I deal with trespassers more years than not. This year I’m dealing with some committed ones. Not as bad as yours but they believe phone apps and sadly they are grown men my age. ONX and other apps are not admissible in court. But a deed and a survey are.

I agree.... I agree about law enforcement.... I'm trying to figure out how to get concrete evidence for a conviction.. If I install a gate or physically barrier they will remove again for sure...The trespasser use many cell cams...Most likely mask when damaging barrier s...Its a tough one. I have to have video proof for conviction..I'd would think.... I want to be responsible and do this right... I know I can physically catch him trespassing.... But I don't want confrontation .. Too many health problems for that...

Game cameras and provide video to the law. The agency i work for actually has game cams we put on residents property if they request. Ask to speak to them, if they don’t have the means talk to the state game enforcement for PA. Down here it’s FWC and they provide the same help we do.

We’ve had our helicopter up at night as we track poachers. Nothing better than FLIR video of them running and dumping evidence.

Yes friend excellent advise.... Ill contact game comission to install there Cameras...I don't have money for them to steal and damage cameras... Pictures go directly to game warden.....if they damage cameras its state Property...

If you can some how convince the Commish to use their cameras, that would be awesome. Especially if your yahoo neighbors don’t know the Commish is involved. They will steal or destroy them and open a real can of worms. But, unfortunately the Commish is mainly focused on game law violations. Not land disputes. But it doesn’t hurt to try. You can mention the 160 but like I said, you should have videoed all the evidence.

I’m getting older and have much less tolerance for this kind of crap. Are they putting their cameras on your property? Nothing some buckshot or a 30-30 won’t cure or a good air rifle. What are they going to do, charge you with destruction of property? They do this because they are arrogant enough to think no one can or will do anything about it. I am absolutely NOT advocating assaulting these people in any way but perhaps they’ll think twice next time. We once had some new neighbors build a tool shed on my parents property back in the wooded area. They continued to move the surveyors markers around to make it look like it was their property. Local law enforcement couldn’t be bothered but vandals caused so much damage to the shed and contents that they finally moved back to their side of the creek.

@RM.510bigbore Have you considered speaking to them and selling them a hunting lease? By the time you arrange this conversation you should have video footage of them encroaching upon your property. In your conversation have a voice recorder in your pocket and recording before you approach them to speak. When you approach them, consider saying something along the lines of, “How’s it going? Listen, I was thinking about something. I know y’all like to hunt, sometimes you have, baited, shot or tracked animals across the property lines. I was thinking, since we live in proximity to one another and you like to hunt maybe we can agree to mutually beneficial terms. For the sum of (state your price) I agree to permit you legal access to (state the areas of your property) during (blank) season. Please pick up behind yourself, no camping, campfires, drinking/alcohol, unauthorized guests, etc (whatever other terms you can think of). I figure that you all can help keep an eye on the place and the game. If you sound forgiving, at some point in the conversation I would expect that they may incriminate themselves in regards to past violations on your property. If they are polite and apologetic, perhaps you all can work out a mutually beneficial hunting lease (contract). If not, you can present the recorded conversation and evidence to a law enforcement agent or agency.

You may want to consider contacting a lawyer. Someone who knows the local laws. I know people balk when the hear the L word, but going directly to law enforcement without documentation will dilute their interest, and dealing directly with your neighbors could prove dangerous. Keep in mind that these neighbors of yours may be liable for damages if you can show they’ve destroyed your property, and some lawyers will only take payment if a settlement is reached. Just something to keep in mind.

Regardless of what you do, please be cautious. These neighbors of yours have displayed a brazen disregard for your sovereignty and thus a grave disrespect for you. In my experience, men like that can be unpredictable, and when challenged can lash out. So tread lighy, take your time, and be smart.

Do a 1 season at a time lease to your local law enforcement that encases the land at your neighbors/trespassers or where they are trespassing . Just enough so they can hunt it right next to the trespasser . This is in appreciation for what they do for all of us . They will take care of the intruders in the very first season LOL . If all goes well you will never have any trouble again and you made some pals where they could assist you in future transgressors if need be . 1 Season at a time and you can see how it goes cancel at any time for any reason you deem necessary . There lease is free and your problem is solved and you help the fellows in blue and can cancel or continue at your leisure LOL :coffee:
