My apologies and I feel much better!

First, my apologies to anyone I may have offended recently. I sincerely apologize.

Second, I got tired of not being able to shoot in the daylight hours, so I put a black mark on a cinder block in my backyard at ~25 yards.

And under my flood lights, which barely allow me to get a good focus with the Athlon Argos BTR 8-34, I took one shot and that black mark was erased. (smile)

I feel MUCH better!

Unfortunately, I have to endure at least one more day of *mod edit - removed racist comment* making noise in my backyard finishing up what should have been done last week replacing the city sewer lines. Don't call me a bigot. I am not. I am an American. Born and raised!

Sorry for the mini-rant, but I am tired and sick and tired.

All my best!

Kerry

you need a night scope sir, even on something simple im sure it would be quite fulfilling, peradventure a similar situation transpires again in the future ..
Thanks for the suggestion, but I considered that a long time ago and decided that NV would be a waste of money for me. I just NEED to shoot more than I have be able/allowed to shoot for too long. Call it weird, strange of whatever you want to, but I am always up at or before daylight just for the chance that I will have a pesting shot. It is actually what keeps me going with my failing health.

Not whining for sympathy, just stating what is a fact for me.

Thanks for the reply!

All my best!

Kerry

p.s.

I know my shooting ability/accuracy/precision suffers if I can't at least take a couple of shots each day at distances longer than my 10 meter indoor "range".

You lost me at “Spanish speaking morons…” Its understood that noise you cannot control in one’s backyard super sucks. But why the aspersions? It takes brain power to read, speak, and write in two languages. I particularly hate this time of year, particularly the DST clock change. It affects my after work shooting sessions and mood…

@BackStop The reference that L. Leon mentioned is gonna rub a few folks the wrong way on here. This is an international forum. We also live in a multicultural republic containing many ethnic and racial groups, but you know this. Maybe edit that portion as not to offend others.

I do understand your frustration about a slow moving project affecting your lifestyle and activities. I’d be pissed too, but I’d be even more pissed if the sewers backed up on my property during the rainy season are coldest part of winter. NV is fun, but if you have no other use for it a scope mounted torch would work fine. I think that a green light would draw less attention than a white light. I like these for certain types of night hunting.

I use one and use a figure 8 clamp to affix it to my rifle’s barrel. It also works to spotlight different animals at night.

Here’s a link to the clamp ROUP Flashlight Mount Holder, Barrel Scope Flashlight Mount Clamp Clip, Quick Release Mount Holder for Flashlight Torch Gun Scope Laser Sight Telescope Diameter 25mm-30mm https://a.co/d/3r1VSJW

good adjustable beam flashlight mounted on a rail does wonders for night shooting :)
Thanks, but this wasn't about night shooting. It was about not being able to shoot. If I had pests that I could shoot at night, it would definitely be different!

I have a streamlight that mounts on a picatinny rail that I can target practice at 100 yards in the dark if I have the ambition to do so…..
As I said above...

Because of AGN forum rules I can't speak of the ongoing invasion of the USA. That alone will probably get me banned.

Yeah, the clock change isn't my problem, but I wish they would leave it on DST and stop this foolish time change twice a year.

All my best! And I hope I am still here tomorrow! (smile)

TORCH? the only person I have met, that called a flashlight a 'torch' was a multi language engineer from

Switzerland working on our 650 megawatt steam turbine

@jarmstrong Some manufacturers like to distinguish a high-lumen output torches from flashlights. Maybe it helps some folks feel like they are not being ripped off by higher price tags. I’ve actually read this in a product description. Makes sense to me. I have some that can really stretch the beams out a lot further than a flashlight. One doesn’t really make a halo around the beam and prevents a lot of light from bleeding outside of the focus area. It’s pretty neat stuff to me. Either way, I see you understood what was meant.

People get rubbed the wrong way for a lot of reasons and I have to leave it at that, being that this is AGN.

As I said, more than once, this is not about shooting at night. It is about not being able to shoot and facts that can't be talked about on AGN.

All my best!

@BackStop I get that. I was just trying to steer you towards a rather cheap alternative to use at night or twilight until the work that’s preventing you from shooting in the daytime is completed.

Ongoing invasion of the USA? Lol that’s an ongoing story that dates back to the forefathers. For instance the Irish were hated by the English and were called monkeys. When the Italians came over they received the same warm welcome and were called guineas and wops. I can understand the dislike of completely open borders and do think there should be a filter to weed out the bad from the good. However the language one speaks has nothing to do with being a moron. I’ve encountered plenty of morons that speak all types of languages. Hell, most Americans don’t speak proper English just ask the Brits.

Not only is AGN an international forum, it’s also a culturally, ethnically, and politically diverse one. Just like the US. In my opinion, this is one of the things that makes it a great place. Both the forum and the country. So obviously you can say whatever you want (at the moderator’s discretion) but bear in mind that for a lot of folks here, the only moronic thing being exposed is your own thinking.

There is NO ROOM for bigotry in this melded society. This comment and your treatment of those different from yourself is, and must be called out as unacceptable.
Yep, this is a forum created for air gun discussion. There are forums created for political or cultural views. The OP could have made the exact same point regarding the "morons" doing the work without adding his thinly veiled racist view.

Have you tried a good light at your target rather than from your rifle ?
I shoot in my basement and although I have 8 foot fluorescent light fixtures which do provide descent light, I also mounted a 50 watt mini spot light in the joists about two feet in front of the target. It really helps the crispness of the target when shooting.
I forget if you mentioned how far your target is. Obviously, available electricity at your target (110 volt AC) if it’s a long way from house or garage or closest point could be costly to install. With todays LED lights and the many options for powering them, battery or solar charged, getting light at your target might be a lot more practical.
Maybe put a descent flashlight off to the side and a bit in front of your target one night might help decide if it’s practical to consider. With lighting at the target you don’t need to light up the whole neighborhood and at the same time attract tons of insects. Just a thought.
