FX chronograph v1 issues

Recently got a fx Chrono didn't really need it but I liked that it records your shoots ect. I have been using the cheap Chinese one that is all over the forum. The fx chronograph is all over the place with the fps, I thought it was my reg acting up. I have checked it with 5 rifles now and the same thing it will be good for a few shots then it will record the next at like 40-50 fps low then goes high and back and forth till it gets to about what it should be reading.

I checked it against the cheap Chrono and the cheap one was consistent while the FX one was all over the place. Is this normal for them or did I get a bad one. I used new batteries and different positions but it was a no go.

Here's my setup and it's very consistent. Chrono placed at the end of the barrel - not the end of the moderator. This can be accomplished as I have it in the photo or by using a small tripod. Also - definitely use lithium batteries.

I have used it that way and on a tripod, I guess all give some lithium batteries a go to see what happens. Thanks

If you are using it indoors in confined space expect erratic readings, even outdoors with obstacles near your shooting lane you will get inconsistent readings.
Open ot up and make sure all the plug in things are seated properly.
Yeah I'm outside but my shooting lane is next to a large oak tree about 5 feet from the bench can't imagine that would cause it but who knows.
