Skout Skout / EPOCH / Who's "All In?”

I played paintball for a many years and even owned two paintball fields, Skout is a sister company of Smart Parts they’ve been making electro pneumatic markers for a couple decades and I’ve owned several since the year 2000. Trust me when I tell you this is the future and every other manufacturer will be playing catch up to these guys. I’m 1000% all in and I’m looking at the .35 call, my reasoning is the low operating pressure will give unmatched shot count per fill and the lack of any mechanical parts slamming into each other with no spring recoil valve closing will give it a deadly smooth accurate action that will send a large pellet down range with deadly accuracy. Coupled with my ATN 4K pro this will be a game changer for coyotes, I’m more than pumped for this rifle to be in my gun safe! As an FYI the average paintball is .54 cal.

Me I would have to say NO I never bought a daystate with electronics , I was a mechanic my whole life and I got to see evolution from carburetors to electronic ones to points and condensers to up to date can systems and dis ignition and digital fuel injection , I remember so many weird problems with elements like hot and cold or damp or dry to see things act up , I know with Pcp guns it isnt life or death like a combat situtation , but I want to know my trigger and keep it breaking smoothly and clean ,

I guess if I was a kid I mite try it but I saw eay too much issues with electronics in my carrear to know what can happen , add to the mix if you are a hunter like me who can fall into a puddle or mud , now how would a electronic trigger do then ? plus add into account time you have to get another board harness fix it or display or even solenoids for regulation then it can become more and more glitches , we have enough to deal with keeping leaks in check why add more issues to a proven system . even hi end Thermal scopes have issues and can cost 4x price of this airgun , and debut is even worse they need a track record for most I believe , Prove me wrong and I will admit it Scout I would love to be wrong

This will be a big money grabbing machine. Air heads get excited over anything new or fresh but in reality its all basically the same. Nothing ground breaking here that will force every other manufacturer to follow in their foot steps.

I’m with you on having no to little desire to purchase one, but I don’t agree with the portion in bold. Whether or not it motivates other manufactures to emulate the design, the aspect of a low operating pressure looks very intriguing. In fact, that’s probably the only thing that caught my attention in regards to their Shot Show presentation. I, like many other members, will be watching from the sidelines as people buy and post about their experiences with these new air rifles. Will they perform? Or will they be among other air rifle brands leading with ad campaigns making bombastic claims compelling impulse buyers to part with a significant portion of their income and leaving a string of overzealous and disappointed airgunners in their wake after bursting onto the scene with well-marketed mediocrity?

"Or will they be among other air rifle brands leading with ad campaigns making bombastic claims compelling impulse buyers to part with a significant portion of their income and leaving a string of overzealous and disappointed airgunners in their wake after bursting onto the scene with well-marketed mediocrity?"

I am not familiar with mfg's that have made claims and not delivered. I did purchase a FX Dreamline after all the hype and am satisfied with my purchase. What mfg's and rifles have made claims and not produced? Just trying to learn.

While they claim achieving same power with lower air pressures around 900psi they also explain that they use more air volume per shot as well. The shot count is roughly the same as higher psi guns on the market today. You're not getting any real benefit in terms of more shots per fill.

Less mechanical parts moving, less wear and tear, more control over shots fps. These are the benefits. However I haven't heard of an FX impact wearing out parts yet and they've been out for a few years so...

One thing is strange that many people here talked about that the gun is capable of shooting at high powers at very low pressure.

But in PCP my experience is that we do not need the required ftlb only, but we also need a certain type of air flow and air pressure to obtain the required accuracy.

At very low pressure the behaviour of air and resulting behaviour of pellets will be changed.

However the actual fact will be known when we would be able to play with it.

Had my EPOCH since @ Feburary of this year .... AWESOME PCP RIFLE !!!
I've owned electronic AG's sense the Daystate MK3 & still have 2 more modern Electro Daystates.
Having the SKOUT makes 3 electro guns and have had ZERO issues with there electronics !!!

There smoother in shot cycle, more air efficient & quieter than most any other PCP at equal power. Also VERY very adjustable in output ;)

I,m really really trying not to purchase a epoch but i,m also really wanting one, i have a question to Skout as i live in spain if i give into my craving and purchase the epoch and i have issues as a recent thread concerning air loss i,m not really in a position to send the gun off to the states for a repair regardless of there superb customer service if and it is a if i had issues could any issue be sorted via a kind of on line help and guidance ??

Here is mine in .22, with a cherry picked 52 yard group of JTS 22.07 grains. View attachment 402510View attachment 402511
Great groupings, Sotty!!
Can you believe I’ve had mine a week today, and still haven’t fired a pellet thru it or even mounted a scope, ha ha! All I’ve been doing is gathering bits and pieces for it, small changes here and there like the cocking handles I’m going to change for beefier ones. So for now, I just like to open the case and stare at it like a high school freshman chick gawking at thd senior star QB

What totally impresses me besides the bulletproof case it comes in, is the little case inside that has a full reseal kit, the charger, moderator, mag, and get this: all the tools(including specialty type) required to work on this gun! I mean, who else provides those items with their guns??!! Owners manual is 60 pages! Not 3 pages and two of them all the safety precautions, lol, like most manufacturers put out

That is such a sharp looking rifle. If I got one it would likely be that color or the green.
They have an olive green that looks great. I got blue to match my prize bipod from RMAC.
