Wraith Mini my impressions

It is a bit heavier than the 6-18 Trophy I had on this carbine. I really like the light gathering capabilities it has in color mode. It will add time you can go and stay in the woods. I have a fifty yard range and when it is too dark to see the range the mini shows it clearly in normal mode.

I would not say it will replace a scope for me but it does add to what you can do with a rifle. I have it mounted now on my main walking around rifle so I can get use to using it. The reticle selection is pretty good. I am using some type of hashed reticle with a circle and center dot. I have had a detached retina and see a distorted center reticle. The dot works much better for me.

Last but not least I purchased this from Amazon for $799. On the order page was a coupon banner that I clicked that gave me $159. off.

Nice score on the money off! wow! How are you liking the quick detach mount? That is the one option I did not get with mine.

The QD is handy. I have three rifles set up to use the mini wraith. All have picatinny rails and QD rings or QDmount for scopes or red dots.

I have used QD's on other optics, Arms is one manufacturer I use on my M1A. That set was pretty expensive so was the Smith mount for that rifle. I use quick detachable rings to use on flashlights that I convert to a weapons light. They work real well.

For those of you that still have the wraith mini, how are you liking it?

I picked one up a couple weeks ago and so far I like it. I’ve had a couple atn 4k pros and so far like the wraith quite a bit more. It is much lighter, powers on extremely fast, no glitches yet, controls are easy to use. Although I don’t use it in hunting situations, I did test out the built in range finder and do not care for it, seems it would take too long to range a critter but maybe I just didn’t mess with it long enough. I mainly only use it for night pesting and leave it off until a target comes out, it powers on so fast. I used it some in the daytime which works alright but definitely wouldn’t want to replace a regular scope for daytime use. Seems to get over saturated with the light, may try to put a different scope cover it with a hole drilled into it to limit the light coming in, this worked great on my atn and made daytime use much clearer. I think for airgun use the supplied ir light is plenty. Looking forward to spending some more time with this little thing but I am happy with it so far. At some point I’d like to play with the wraith mini thermal, seems like a nice thermal for the price

My opinion hasn't changed. That said, I have purchased a thermal (Rico RH50) and that's become my go-to night-time pesting scope.

The Wraith Mini has higher resolution but the thermal really paints the pests a hot colour, so easy to find -- often even in daylight. Both scopes are great but thermal is better for my task.

Might be so, but the price differences between the 2 are HUGE!

My thoughts are similar, the optic itself is great! it is very strenuous on the eye looking through the eye cusp. The novelty of video recording get sold (not a youtuber either even tho I have a few videos up). The rechargeable battery pack is worth every penny (and it doesn't weigh that much either, extremely light) as I haven't had to charge it yet (getting close though). The IR light definitely has to be aimed properly as well. I think if I were to ever come into more funds to spend on my night setup, I would opt for a clip on thermal but the price on those, well, we all know. I definitely prefer real glass but can't complain about the mini for its price.

Can I ask what the mag battery mount is?
