N/A Webley

As promised, the other option I mentioned of Tempest with Hurricane barrel....
Works well. Still very compact but additional sight base....

I love that! Besides the extra sight radius, the Hurricane front sight is a bit taller and better-shaped, easier to pick up when sighting.

Both guns had that front housing modified over time, by the way. Older Tempests have a more rounded front sight, and older Hurricanes have a noticeably longer housing.

I was about 14 when I had my tempest
It was like an extension of my arm.
Match pistol shooters will modify the elaborate grips on their pricey weapon of choice until they can grip it comfortably, raise the gun with their head turned sideways, then turn around and find the sights correctly aligned, with no need to move their head, arm, wrist, or fingers any further.

The Tempest is the only pistol I've ever owned that does that for me out of the box.I have fairly small hands, so this is prolly not true for 90% of ya...but that quirky little gun, with its modest plastic OEM grips, literally fits me perfectly.

That is correct regarding the even longer sight base available from the earlier variant of the Hurriane...
I had not mentioned the extra height of the blade, but again correct, it offering a better picture....keeping the top of the barrel well away from hovering at the base of the sight notch as it does with the Tempest..
Probably a worthwhile mod all things considered.

Another rendition of a Tempest with a Hurricane barrel.
General concensus was Tempest shooters tightening group sizes by 1/4" at usual ranges..
I came to the conclusion it was coming from the better sight picture, rather than the minuscule increase in sight radius, perhaps 5/8" with the later Hurricane barrel, and a good inch with the earlier variant....
Perhaps the earlier Hurricane barrel starting to spoil the look and compactness, I'd go with the later barrel and gain from better sight picture and a little bit of extra radius...whilst maintaining the compactness..

Hi
Im interested in acquiring a Hurricane.
Any idea where I should look other than posting a want ad ?
Thanks.
Beside your suggestion, google is your friend, and gun brokers will list this pistol now and then. This for example (not sure if it is available at this moment though):

After reading this thread I had to dig out my Hurricane for some fun. I don't use it too often...PCP rifles have me going down a different path. This Hurricane and my Beeman R1 / .20cal were my favorites when I was younger.

I picked this up in 1981 at a sporting goods store (Curt Smith's, Bellville IL). One of the options that I paid for was a "Super Tune" service. Not sure what all was done internally but externally was the addition of the wider trigger adapter. I’ve used a scope and a red dot optic on it, although the iron sights are still my preference.

I even gave it a cleaning while I was reminiscing.

EXCELLENT gun!

When I was in my late teens, 1970ish... I would ogle at the Webley pellet pistols in the showcase of the sporting goods store where I would buy my annual fishing license. At the time there was no way I could afford one, hell... I barely could afford my fishing license and all the other essentials a young man absolutely had to have.
Fast forward to 2020 as as the author of the thread says... Finally, I get the opportunity to purchase a Webley Tempest from AoA's pre-owned site. It took fifty years but not only do I have one but also found a Webley Senior.
Life is good.
