I am going to use it on my Sauer 100XT, it has some minor pitting under the barrel. I have no choice and willing to chance a re-bluing. A member on a firearm forum has tried it and said it works if directions are followed. I do share your concern. It looks like steel wool. I will report back to this thread. Must remember to take before and after pictures.there is no way i would use a metal scrubby on my guns .
First I have heard of that. Wondering if other members keep their airgun, especially break barrels, open to preserve the seal.are thats true that better leave airgun barel partialy opened to preserv the seall
If this was true then they certainly would be packed and shipped this way. They can be in the original boxes and stored a long time before a buyer comes along.are thats true that better leave airgun barel partialy opened to preserv the seall
I saw that pic and thought about the band Guns and Roses, I don't know why.![]()

Finished using it, Remove all of the rust damage except one pit which was deep. Looks a lot better. Did not damage bluing. Forgot to take pictures. Manufacturer says product will not removed deep pitting as that requires a buffing and re-bluing;I am going to use it on my Sauer 100XT, it has some minor pitting under the barrel. Thanks. The double sided is handier than you think. I love it.Beautiful Crow!
Some fine guns there as well.
I love the double sided work station.
When moving, to Florida, a lot hotter and more humid than Nevada, I found that the silicone gun bags made for pistols and rifles really keep them dry and protected and working fine. If using, get the thicker ones with Velcro flap and not drawstrings to close. Could use any tips on long term storage for vintage 60's Crossman pistols,Saw a post today that got me thinking. I am moving away from storing my air guns in a soft case to storing them on floor racks. I use Balistol or Breakfree CLP to lube the outside so not sure if that attracts dust and if the dust would stick. Probably just wipe them down after I shoot them. Besides all the stacked gun cases falling over each other, I read that gun cases attract moisture. My basement has a dehumidifier in it but I did have a firearm rust some on the outside when I did not clean it for a week. I must have stripped the oil protectant when my sweaty hands were on it. I do not have small kids around and the basement is alarmed so not concerned about security, just protecting my airguns from rust. Note I have no room for wall racks. Was wondering what others do. Note I did not see a thread on storing vs rusting but please point me to it if this topic has been discussed before.
Louis would need a walk-in safe .I store mine in a gun safe with desiccant canisters, everything stays clean, dry, and safe
Not only rust, but there's also the nasty mold issue if you store guns in dark, non ventilated spots such as safes, gun cabinets and cases. Always check for mold on used guns before adding it to your collection. A good rule to follow, is to quarantine a newly acquired gun till you can wipe it down thoroughly with a mold control product. Just a few spores can grow and spread to others and if left too long, will ruin the finish on a stock. Mold likes leather products too: holsters and slings. My suggestion, to all, is to invest in a dehumidifier and keep the storage area between 45-55 levels. The biggest problem with using cases is when one wants to shoot the gun they usually take case and gun outside. Then when the case is opened the sweating begins. Then the gun is returned to to case, brought back inside the house and the rusting process is in full bloom. I store all my airguns spring and gas piston, upright in my climate controlled gun safe. Every gun gets wiped down, even if I just handle it and have touched any metal part, before going back in the safe. Silicone rag with Triflow lubricant sprayed in the rag. Never had rust on a gun in over 30 years. If you oil the jaws of a barrel cocker, be sure to blow out excess oil before putting back upright. Oil has a way of getting into the chamber port in not careful.
