this is my first post. I am thinking of purchasing an FX Dreamline compact tactical for squirrels in a residential area. Do you think a 22 with 15 gr would be more safe than a 25 cal? I purchased an Impact mk3 in 30 cal as an all around squirrel and larger varmint air rifle at the advice of a friend but it is way to powerful and unsafe to shoot in my location. Maximum distance would be around 25yds. Going to try and sell the impact I believe. Thanks in advance

The .22 will generally be safer because it will carry less energy. Ultimately, safety is dependent on the shooter and environment he is operating in.

.177 shooting 16.1 jsb at 880 is super accurate in the Dreamline and more than enough power

Greg, I would say, don't sell...
You have a great platform to mix and match whatever projectile you want to shoot, with great pression I might add. Consider the option of changing out to another FX "Barrel Kit" ($300) to a caliber that will work for your intention. You have the ultimate platform to create whatever power at the caliber you need. No need to "sell" and move to another platform...JMOO

I have a .177 and .25. The .177 is good for smaller with speed a little over 900 fps. Not much drop out to 25 yards and enough for birds and squirrels.

Remember, your barrel will be shorter than the air tube, if your gun was purchased as a .30 cal..That’s not a no no, but just be aware. Contact DonnyFL for a shroud extender if you desire to use a suppressor.

Without spending a bunch of time googling stuff, you will probably come out in the neighborhood $400 and change for the barrel kit/probe and the magazine plus shipping. Pellets will depend on your tastes.
