Favorite mid size tank

And why? Got my eye on Tuxing and other Chinese 6.8L, hatsan 6.8, tiger shark 7.4L, airmarksman and omega

Will be using saber valve so it’s really just the tank for me but if any of them come with really good valve that’s a major plus

I have both a mid-size and large tank, I gotta say, even though the large tank cost a little more, doing it over, I would definately buy two large tanks. More capacity really comes in handy.
Nothing wrong with the mid-size, it's a great tank with an excellent valve and bleeder, just that the extra capacity is a need at times.
They are both Brancato tanks, Tiger Shark and Great White.

any particular reason these tanks are better than the rest? or why you chose them? im leaning towards them too because of the USA manufacture and brancato pretty much being an air scientist but I also am reading just in this forum. 2 issues with the guppy valves lol

i bought a new tank once......once....
and never again.

it didnt do anything more or better than my fire station procured scba's that were 50 bucks or less.

right now i have 2 scba tanks,
a mid size and a large one.
and have less than $200 total in them including fill systems.

all it takes is some legwork to hit some local fire houses.


that said,
always always always go with the larger tank,
the extra capacity will be greatly appreciated.

i use my smaller tank for my guns that fill to 3000,
and the large one for guns that fill to 3600.

I have two 74cf SCBA tanks. Before I retired I bought them figuring I would need two for my range days. Turns out just one 74 gives me tons of full fills in my 250 and 300 bar guns.
Also, once my SCBA goes below max fill pressure on my gun I can either short fill or tether and be there till the moon rises.
And a third possibility, I could cascade with my second SCBA and go a very very long time.

Although they are more expensive, yes, because they are made in USA and Brancato stands behind his product lines.
When I owned a couple of rifles that had the tube-style air chambers, I had a Guppy, which worked well for the purpose. When I bought the 'newer' bottle-style air chamber rifles, then I switched to the larger air tanks.
The only issue that I have ever had with the valves, which are the same for any of the Brancato tanks, is the internal O-Ring split and needed replacing. Super easy fix and Brancato sent me the needed O-Ring.
