I have been looking at both of these and have kind of come to the assumption that the Impact is more of a gun for people that really like to fidget a lot while the Ghost is more of a, let’s go shoot. Thoughts?
Agree. The ghost seems great, but time will tell as you mentionedWhile I'm far from an expert on these two platforms. I would tend to agree with this , at least initially. The Impact is known for it's variables, the ghost is a relatively new release. Another 6 months will confirm that guns durability.
I have 2 ghosts 177-25 and an m3 with 22 and 25 600mm barrels i like all 3 but the ghosts are everything everyone says about daystate and while the m3 isn’t everything everyone says about fx its not a daystate either.I had an Impact MKII in 30 cal and it shot great. You had to verify the POI each time I took it hunting….lots of Orings that went bad (I bought it used) so I had to rebuild it before I could even shoot it. It took a little work to get it tuned just right, but you always had to check it’s zero. I sold the Impact when I got a 30 cal Delta Wolf.
I then bought a ghost carbine in 22 and after a good barrel cleaning loved the rifle. This rifle shot better than my DW….I traded in my DW and got a ghost 30 cal. Good cleaning of the barrel and a tack driver…put my DW to shame.
Durability wise….It travelled to New Mexico, Oklahoma, then down into Texas in a soft case. When I got to Textreme it took 5 shots to confirm yardage turret and after the 2 days, in hot, humid, rain it got me 1st place.
Off to Utah after that for RMAC and again at sight in it was right on.
Back home to Arizona and anther first place in a local competition…..Off to shoot P dogs in snowflake and longest confirmed DRT was 185 yards.
‘Durable? Hell yes….I love the platform. Very easy to tune, durable, and both of mine shoot great.
I have only shot pellets so far.

Ah, good response. Simply said.I have 2 ghosts 177-25 and an m3 with 22 and 25 600mm barrels i like all 3 but the ghosts are everything everyone says about daystate and while the m3 isn’t everything everyone says about fx its not a daystate either.
Very interesting. It definitely looks like a great gun. I was looking at the pathfinder in .22, but really wanted the option to tune down power vs lacking it. At 780FPS I am just not comfortable. It is kind of a bummer sense the gun breaks down for travel. The Ghost took care of the power issue. I have been reading a lot though on when pellets actually become unstable. Interesting stuffI love my 177 ghost for field target so much so i quit shooting my red wolf and while i havent shot many slugs thru it it looks promising. The 25 shoots pellets very well @ 100 im taking both to the pa cup and well see what i can do with them i have no real complaints with either but the 177 is a hp and I’ve had to set it up below the recomended power for the gun but again my red wolf is my backup.
The gun durability?… Just simply look at the rest of the XR line… “all” are fairly “robust” PCPs. No wallflowers in the entire XR lineup. While I'm far from an expert on these two platforms. When you made the comment about being in a “city” I thought Pathfinder XR. Mine is shooting at 788 fps avg. for 25 FPE at the muzzle. At 100 yards the JSB Exact Jumbo 18s are generating 13.6 FPE, at 50 yards 18 FPE. Plenty for small pest out to that distance. Recently a fellow posted about a coyote he took with his .22 Pathfinder XR, mine has taken many pest birds with shots out to 60+ yards. You can bump up the power on the Pathfinder… But, if I were in a “city” or had to choose only one? My .22 Atomic XR… As for the BRKs? There isn’t a bad apple anywhere in their lineup, just solid and reliable performers.Very interesting. It definitely looks like a great gun. Good points here. I agree that the BRK’s seem like nothing but quality to say the least. When you made the comment about being in a “city” I thought Pathfinder XR. Sweet setupsHhall1. Here is buster my 22 carbine after 20 minutes at a dairy. The crown (Headbanger) was my favorite hunting rifle until Buster came along. Buster shoots the 18's at 870 for about 30 Foot Pounds at the muzzle. Super easy to slow the pellet down if I wanted less power.
