48 end of the line

Well, I couldn’t drive past AGS knowing I had a hold. Walked out with a Diana 48 .22. and a 2x7x30 Air Max. I have a N-tec waiting for a trigger assembly. Someone’s return. Be a while before it’s ready.
But that’s it. No more guns. Unless an old classic.

I like the butt end with contrast. Jacking it is similar to the 54.

Decent looking rifle. Hits like a mule kicks.

Not a fan of plastic union of course.

And this front sight has got cheese all over it. I’m hoping to remove the sore sight.
I’m going to put a scope on this Bazooka. Another hard hitting Diana. Should be a fun rifle.
Are there many 48’s out there?

Of course mine is the TO1. Wonder if I can make something work with that dovetail

You may already know that that is a sleeve over the barrel and that the cheese holds the sleeve in place. It can even affect the accuracy if it loosens up any. One of my favorite springer the 48 is, but i definitely think this platform is best in .22 cal. unless you want to cut the spring down a little. I'll bet she's a shooter.

I had an Element scope and used the Diana ZR mount. Needs to be moved forward.

At the lowest setting I was still 6 in. high at 30 yds.
Any suggestions?

My suggestion is take that scope off and don't shoot it on there anymore. That's the best way to cook your scope for good.

I put a ZR mount and the scope is springer rated. Life time guarantee.

I didn't like the plastic front sight base on my 48 either. I ended up pulling the iron sights completely and installed an old Dianawerk 48/52 steel muzzle weight I had kicking around. I also had an old RWS adjustable steel C mount made specifically for the Diana 48/52. It has dual recoil stop pins. Rock solid.

Mine is a .177 T06. Great shooting rifle. As far as I know the muzzle weight is no longer made, but I do see them for sale on Ebay from time to time. If you end up getting something to replace the plastic front sight base, whatever that may be, make sure it's fully seated against the barrel sleeve and locked on tight. And when you have the front sight base removed, don't pick the gun up by the barrel sleeve, as it will slide right off, and you'll risk dropping the gun. (Don't ask me how I know this).

The gun has a reputation as a scope eater, but after 1000+ rounds through mine the Hawke Vantage 4x32 AO scope I mounted is holding up fine.
