Alright, so I buddy of mine and I share our airguns, I ususlly test them, sight them in and get them running. He got a tons of air rifles for free essentially, some of them work just fine, and some of them needed some work. I've worked out the kinks to most. The ranchero he got has a massive fps fluxuation, and I mean where one shot will be 540fps, the next will be 380fps, and then 450fps, and then 250fps, and back and forth. Initially, I figured it was the hammer. When I tore the damn things I apart there were metal shavings all inside the block. Bad enough to wesr it landed all on my lap when I started taking it apart. The edge of the hammer was getting beat up. I assumed from improper cocking on the handle. I ordered one through FX and miraculously they found one, only took about 2 months. So I cleaned the guns replaced the hammer put it back together and cycles fine. But the issue still persists, now the gun has a small leak, I'm assuming it's coming from within the cylinder. My suspicion is that the reg may be leaking, but could a leaky reg cause the speed to fluctuate by hundreds of FPS?
