I think Air Arms should have made it titanium tube to fit the ultimate name to make the difference and full opening for pellet loading

Honestly…I’d rather buy the newer laminate HW98.

They still have the option of left or right loading though. It would have made more sense for them to just enlarge the opening like the HW97…

The website still shows the old stocks too. Not sure if they stopped making them with the new introduction.

In all honesty, the TX stock is very easy to make into an adjustable cheek piece. This factory version looks cheap !! I made my other TX's have adjustable cheek pieces, but havent got around to doing my current Mk3. I found the biggest gain was for offhand shooting, dont do much of that anymore with my arthritus.

All I want is an under 8lbs Air Arms sporting model. Under 7 would be amazing. I just don't want a 9+ lb sporting rifle. And I ain't no slouch either. I'm 63 yrs and do over 50 pushups straight (hoping to reach 60 of them again soon), weight lift twice or thrice and run 2 miles twice a week.
I know, I know, springers are dead and all anybody wants is PCP blah blah blah

This would be my ideal too. A quality under-lever that weighed 7-8lbs and shot 8-10gr pellets at 11-12fpe. As much as I like my hw97k, and in spite of its stellar accuracy, it is a pig to carry in the woods for any length of time. Thank goodness for the hw50s, which hits the sweet spot for break barrels.

The only thing I don’t like is the black cheek piece on the walnut stock. It looks cheap.

Likewise, I have a walnut stocked model, I think I hit the lottery with the stock I got, to me all those shown are butt ugly.
