Been awhile!

How's it going guys? It's been awhile since I've been on here. I'm still loving my Evol mini and think it's the perfect gun for me. Has never skipped a beat and impresses me every time I take it out. Paired with my 4-20x50 Helos BTR Gen2 it's just such a great, rock solid combo I've come to depend on.

Curious what's new out there? Anything ground breaking since I've been out of it the last 6-9 months? I have no interest in another gun but just curious what cool guns I could have missed in that time lol

Welcome back, Dillon...you haven't missed much. Nothing new really caught my eye this year: the Bro'sCock Ghost looked a lot like the Impact and didn't really offer anything new, the Skout Epoch has some new bells and whistles but hasn't been that spectacular in terms of performance (and look heavy/clunky to me) and the FX Panthera is targeted for a very specific audience and not much cup of tea. It was actually kind of nice to have a "break" this year; it gave me time to double down on my M3's and really get to know them much better than any rifle ever before. In other words, there's nothing out now that will make you want to sell that Evol...

@Dairyboy Hey Dillon, welcome back!! I hope all is well with the family. New guns? The Skout Epoch, Western Sidewinder, BRK (Brocock) Ghost, and FX Panthera are making waves at the moment. The Skout and Sidewinder is on the high end, not sure about the Ghost and Panthera’s price point. I think Umarex just released the Notos, one of several compact carbine/pistol type guns. There are some of us anticipating the release of the Huben semi-auto pistol this year sometime.

The Sidewinder is a semi-auto PCP with a removable magazine. It looks like an LCS knock-off to me. The Skout is advertised to operate at lower pressure than any PCP I’ve seen. Since I got a Huben K1, I haven’t felt pressed about getting another gun. It’s a pretty versatile gun that’s fun to learn and shoot. I still shoot my Evol from time to time.

@yenniedn thanks! Glad to see i havent missed much. I had no idea about the Brocock Ghost, sounds interesting to look into. The Epoch is out now? Huh will have to look how people like it or not. I did get some emails about the Pantera but never looked into it. From what I remember a slug gun? Glad you got to really get into your impacts. It's been nice for me having stepped away from the airgun community to just enjoy what I have. And like said the Evol isn't going anywhere and have no interest in getting another one but just want to look at what's new just for fun.

@Ezana4CE Thanks! Yes family is great. My baby girl is already 1 and the other is 3.5yrs already. Growing real fast. The sidewinder huh? Will need to look into that one as i havent heard of it either. The Notos does sound interesting for alittle barn gun and coming from Umarex maybe not too much money. The Huben pistol sounds cool, will need to look at that. I bet your Huben is a blast to shoot. Always wanted one but just never did try one. Glad you still shoot the Evol. I believe you had a .30??

@Michael thanks! Happy to be back.

@HogKiller as Ezana4CE has the exact one in the post he mentioned.

@Firewalker thanks! Man that sounds like it would be a fun time with lots of things to shoot!

@ctshooter hey man! Yeah it's just a great little gun. Like said not interested in another gun as for what I need it's got it all. Just curious if there was anything cool to just checkout that I might have missed. Also like your new profile pic lol

@Headshots really? Now thats worth a look. Always heard they planned on it for a couple years but nothing ever came up. That would be a great gun.

Welcome back Dillion. There have been a couple of folks who have taken a break recently, so much so that I was starting to feel as if I didn’t know that many people on here 😂.

There hasn’t been that much new in the last 6-9 months in my opinion. The Panthera, the Epoch Scout and the Wrangler and Sidewinder come to mind. For me the Scout looked interesting, but when i asked myself what it would do that my Impact(s), Crown(s) or Wildcat MK3BT couldn’t I get a deafening silence. The Wrangler and Sidewinder tickle my semi-auto fancy, but only the Sidewinder really has me interested, since it has a removable magazine. That was the one thing that I felt would make my Huben K1 perfect, so I may have to check that out. Pricey though.

Anyway, welcome back again.

Chris

Dairyboy,
The JTS Airacuda finally landed here from China, the non-regulated version was well received, the MAX (regulated) didn't go as smoothly, some gave up, others struggled, some overjoyed, all depended on your luck with Chinese quality control. AGT dropped a boatload of Uragan 2 versions, with multiple sizes, stock choices and dual/single bottle options. Vulcan 3 has synthetic stock now, too. The Sidewinder .30 is the only one of the previously mentioned, that caught my eye, Emu has been singing its praises, but having just purchased a U2 and V3 in Synthetic .30 (700mm) the budget is still in recovery mode. Glad you're back, you were missed. WM

Welcome back Dairyboy !

Yes, as WorriedMan said, I am really impressed about the new Sidewinder. It has had the effect of erasing from my mind the appetite for any other air rifle.

AGT helped me to recover my Uragans after I screw it after a double feeding. They sold me a new barrel. Excellent attention from the manufacturer at Praga.... So, AGT confirmed is a super reliable option !

I am happy that your family and you are ok !!

@Ranchibi Hey Randall! Thanks! Yeah there doing great.

@ChRiSiS thanks man! I was curious also to see who else was still around! Glad to see general concensus is not much happened. Will look at those though. Semi auto isn't something that I want but is cool to checkout videos on them.

@WorriedMan very interesting! I got to play with a prototype Airacuda and my initial thoughts were a great gun. However I wanted non regulated. Probably explains my non issues with it. However will say it's sitting in my safe with no scope as I stole the one off my Evol to play with it. Need to get a scope for it eventually just never got around to it. I did know about the U2 i think was just announced before my break. Glad there out and about already. Youve got some nice .30s for sure now!

@Peskådot671 thanks! I briefly glanced at those Epic airguns and those are definitely intriguing! Do get the Evol vibes for sure. Will be following those to see how those do.

@Emu thanks! I will need to look into the Sidewinder. Sounds like a fun semi auto. The fact it has a removable magazine is a BIG plus compared to what's out there. Wow great on AGT to come through with that for you. And thanks we are doing great for the time being! Glad to see you all on here again.

The Taipan 2 looks great. Am very disappointed that it looks like there won't be any shortys though. I think a big mistake there. Curious to see someone use the forward lever, looks very R5Mish. Personally liked those but wonder if it's as nice and smooth as there rear cocker. Not sure I like the free float but never had an issue with the previous clamped version. Wish then the best on it.

The Sidewinder looks pretty cool. You'd swear that LCS made a different company to make it instead of a version 2 of there gun.

The Brocock Ghost looks like it's just a delta wolf minus the electronics. Nothing special that hasn't been done already.

The Pantera is a cool looking gun. Actually looks similar to the Edgun L2. I havent watched any of the commercials for it at all but if Ted has a video on it I probably will watch it. Looks like a good start on a bench slug gun though if that sits your fancy.

Lol well i guess you guys were right not much going on that's special.
