Depends on too many variables to pick a “best”… for rats at 10 to 15 yards, roosting birds? As opposed to ground squirrels at 50 to 100 yards? State your pesting scenario then ask again. I once went through three tins of premium pellets killing roosting starlings at night. Afterwards I realized I could’ve killed them “just as dead” with less expensive CPHPs. For pigeons on the wire at 100 yards? JSB Exact Jumbos… Lots of variables and choices.
1 word : Experiment *mainly bc most slingers are all a bit different. Weight ranges may be close on preference but shape is based upon yardage/purposes in my experience
Good question, but like others have asked, what is it you are shooting at. Pests come in all shapes and sizes. Some people hunt them with 177 12 fpe guns and do well because they are very disciplined on the shots they take and have devoted the time to become very proficient with their air gun. I have one gun I shoot slugs out of and another I shoot pellets out of. When I‘m on target the pests are no more dead from the slugs than the pellets. Shot placement is everything.
K80, These JSB pellets have proven most accurate. In .22, the JSB 18.1 grain and .25, the 33.95 grain. There are other JSB pellets but these are the ones that clearly perform best, for me. WM
