AOA just lost a sale .

From what I've gathered about Pirate Ship is that it's basically just for you shipping an item. You will need to buy a scale to get the exact weight and real shipping labels to print on. I sent in a gun and just used printing paper once. The FedEx guy that really didn't care said that it was fine and his scanner did work with it but then it wasn't read correctly by the scanners on the conveyor belts and that held up the shipment for two days.

I print paper all the time. I have used it for 40 plus shipments on standard paper , never an issue. Guess the weight as well, I just measure the box. All pirate ship is ... is a nation wide shipping account free to the public, the more who use it the better prices would be.

The key to using printed paper is to clear tape over the entire label.

Why should one have to call to get the better freight rate? You would think AOA would have a default set to the most efficient means of shipping. They are using freight as a profit generator.
I am lucky and have a local air gun shop. I buy most of my projectiles there. They are cheaper than on line + freight for small purchases.

When I bought my Weihrauch HW110 from AOA a few weeks ago, I also included a couple tins of pellets. The gun is supposed to have free shipping. When I was checking out I saw a charge ~$37 for shipping. Wha? Went back to the webpage for the gun and confirmed free shipping. Went to my shopping cart and removed the pellets and the gun had no shipping charges. Seems to me to be a glitch in their shopping cart web design. No, I didn't call then, I just bought the rifle from the webpage.

I completely agree, I too am lucky, have been frequenting them more and more and in person. I have kind of sworn loyalty to the shop as of recently, the prices and customer service is great.

Also if you do not buy locally then locally will not be there . Support you local shop , I do even if it cost more

^ That.

I remember grocery shopping with my brother and he wanted to use the self-check-out. I asked him if he hated the little old ladies that ring the purchases up. He said no, so I told him that if enough people do the self-check-thing that they'll lay the ladies off. We never did self-check-out again. I buy everything locally because I love my people. If a local shop has to get it shipped in, that's okay.

Shipping costs are closely tied to the price of diesel fuel. Until we get a handle on that, nothing will change.
