Prophet 2 Performance PROBLEM!

RTI is a great company and has done everything to stand behind their product and make sure the end user is satisfied. Unfortunately, it’s taking a while to get satisfied with this gun. Rok at RTI is great with communication and is doing all he can to get this gun running proper. Our US distributors are also very helpful. Between AOA, TT, High Pressure Pneumatics and RTI, I should have a functional gun by spring. 😂. I’ve gotten my hands on 2 different regulator internals, both of which were supposed to be the most current. Both were different. One was the same as was in the gun from the factory. I installed the different style and got about 20 bar creep over night. Pulled that and installed the other. Only just a slight bit of creep last night. Pretty sure that was just the reg settling in.

That is very similar to the Huma offering, which I personally had no luck with.
I was wondering about the Huma for the RTI as I haven't found any info.. almost bought one. Now I'm kinda happy I didn't. I started to make the switch to fixed regs.. I have one on my prophet 22lr and it's been flawless.. I have been experimenting with a fixed reg on my compact... I swap barrels on it..177 and a 25. I use the adjustable reg to find a good bar setting and then install a fixed reg at that setting (so far it's been working great) seems silly to have 2 regs for 2 different barrels but it's easy to change and I'm not longer fighting with the adjustable one..

If I recall, you have a 145 bar fixed reg? Can I ask what it cost? That seems best for me. I’m currently fighting a high SD, and think it may be a problem with the huge transfer port of the RPB barrel, may not be so compatible after all. I’m gonna polish up one more reg, and if no change I’ll swap barrels for my LR barrel and see if the SD improves.

I had creep overnight on my Propht Performance V1. I didnt consider it an issue at all.. One or two dry fires and it would be solid for the rest of that days shooting.
It eventually settled in and now holds its regulated pressure even after sitting for a week.

I ordered mine from RTI... At the time a 145 was listed (I bought 2) ..now it looks like they changed it and offer a 150.. I also have the fixed 125 ( I use it on my compact 177 shooting 13gr zan slugs. 510mm barrel). i just started experimenting with the fixed reg on my compact...it's been maybe a week.. so far it's been working great. Im planning on using the spare 145 when I swap on the 400mm 25 barrel on the compact.. I used the reg gauge from my adjustable reg and installed it where the tethering port is on the prophet 1's.
It's been about a year since I installed the 145b reg on my prophet 22lr and it's still working perfectly..

Holy cow, My PP 1 prophet has been like a hammer, No problem, My PP2 compact the reg just had to settle in now working great, Both CZ 22 barrels fit now with my fine sanding work, Really I have not shot the PP2 a whole lot, I bought a 22 Huben a month ago and I am IMPRESSED BIG TIME, I am just hoping I missed all the regulator problems , I paid 2000 bucks for this gun to be adjustable I do not want to go FIXED.
And I really like the compact, BUT if I was to get a PP3 I think I would go through AOA or another dealer , I think warranty work would be a lot easier.. I hope RTI is not pissed at me when they sent the Warranty barrel I had already done a LOT of work to the stock CZ 22 barrel, Then I had to rework the warranty barrel and days later I get a email asking for the stock barrel back,, NOPE I am keeping it , I will buy it if I have to but I am not giving the barrel that came with the gun back, I got to much labor and time in it...

Well, I think my reg issue is a non-issue, seems much better when I use my ProChrono instead of my FX chrony. I think it’s also still settling as there are only a few hundred shots with this newest reg, the 4th of 5 different variants I have.
I think settling in after a few hundred break in shots is the thing.
As I said in my previous post, mine would creep overnight but after lots of use it has become rock solid.
I shot it yesterday. I have it set at 150 bar and it did not deviate at all until my main pressure dropped below the reg setting.

Did RTI change the regulator design with the P2?

I think I have the latest in my gun now, the reg housing (stainless part) is slightly different than my others, I haven’t seen the internals, as it came with the whole assembly including gauges.

Well, I’ve done it. No more leaks, and no more reg creep. Gun is shooting great. Very consistent as well. I’m skeptical to say the least though. Just bought a rock solid Uragan Compact .22 to get my mind off the Prophet II. I least I’ll have a nice backup if problems start up again. I do have a spare valve and spare reg if either one goes bad again.

Very cool! Glad you got it all handled and hope you have no further issues.
If your Prophet II is anywhere near as solid as my P1, you should be quite happy with it.

4 days later and the reg is holding strong. Maybe a couple bar of creep, but it’s still breaking in. It’s interesting that the regulator I have in there that was sent as a replacement to the original is the exact same style as the original. Im still skeptical and just waiting for this one to fail as the other did. Anyway, it’s holding for now.

Update:
New, Gen 4 valve installed. Regulator is holding strong. Remove the check valve, no more wheezing. 5 shot string over my Caldwell precision Chrono using the 25.39 MRD. 100bar reg, RPB .22 barrel. This gun is pretty nice now. Glad I stuck it out.
