SCBA and bottles

I use an expired SCBA tank to fill my airguns. I had to buy a fill set to get the air from the SCBA tank into my guns. The fill set I use cost more than the expired tank cost and works great. I tried an inexpensive one first but it leaked badly.

The biggest issue I see is you may have to change what is attached to the SCBA tank between filling it and using it. Hopefully not but without info on the setup to fill it we don't know. I hook my tank to my Yong Heng using a male to male adapter to connect the hose from the fill set on the tank to the output hose of the compressor.

Be a little more specific for a relevant answer. "With an adapter will this work?" Which SCBA? What type of fittings/adapters does the compressor have? Pictures would help (of tank AND whatever adapters you might already have)
The SCBA has a standard CBA347 threaded male. It looks like I can go with a CBA347 to foster adapter.

The compressor at work I am able to fill the SCBA bottles with.

CGA347 (not CBA), you're correct. I have one of those adapters dedicated for filling tanks only, removed the fill whip (hose) and put in a male foster so my compressor's line connects to it directly. When filling a TANK I try to have the least amount of hose possible. You'll need to know what kind of fill adapters the compressor itself has to determine how to fill your tank. If it's got a CGA347 fill fitting, you're good to go. What is the compressor you have access to used for? If you have a problem I can help. Been working with this stuff for over 30 years. Let me know.

Thank you for the help.

I work for a fire department so I have access to our compressor at the station. I have a bunch of expiring SCBA tanks. I know the compressor at work will fill the bottles but was not sure to go from the bottle to the gun. Seems like it should work fairly easy.

That CGA347 adapter is all you'll need from tank to gun assuming your gun has a male foster fill or a fill probe with male foster end. Remember, fill SLOWLY, bleed QUICKLY. Good luck. I was a firefighter & in the fire systems & equipment business til a couple years ago.
Yes, when we fill our SCBAs we full at a couple hundred psi per minute so slow is definitely the way to go.
