Making the move to FX and starting with the.... Nah, lets do the Maverick!

If you’re a bandwagon guy or indecisive, buying a gun that will definitely shoot a pellet and has a good internet reputation for shooting slugs is probably a good idea. If you fail with the slug thing or wind up blowing a hole in something you shouldn’t, you can fall back on pellets. Another positive for the Maverick is its power potential. Like some guys eluded to, life with a heavy pellet is stress free living, 100 yard bullseye hitting and critters falling. But in order to push these things, 33.95 25 cal and 25.39 22 cal, you need a gun that’s not a limp noodle. The Maverick fits that bill. Quit with the topics and just place your order. Then educate yourself on how to tune the gun and the proper quality tools. Also mentally prepare yourself for upcoming issues. The more complex and powerful the gun, the greater potential for problems.

Where is the fun in that?

I'm building funds now, no ordering for a bit.

Sorry to change gears on you all but I have gotten a lot of advice to skip the Dreamline and go to the Impact, Crown & Wildcat but the one that really takes my breath away is the Maverick!

Why?

SLUGS!!!!

Open my eyes, tell me what I am missing?
Having had both the Maverick and Wildcat MK3 in any "Lego" caliber and length I wanted. I still preferred my Impact MKII and bought an M3 as well. Sold both the Maverick and WC. One of the reasons is the shot cycle of the Impact is much smoother, to me, than the Maverick/ WC platform. Also, didn't like the shot noise transferring up through the cheek rest. Of those two, if I were to buy another, it would be a WC BT compact. There is just something about that stock that is, well, special. Hard to describe how good it feels when shouldered. Still not parting with my Impacts and bought yet another M3.
Enjoy your Maverick.

Patrick

I’d rather be shooting than talking about it. At least now I understand. You’re killing time while tucking money away. Good luck building that gun stash and hopefully nothing dumb that life sometimes throws at you pops up and puts a dent in it.

Id rather be shootin too! However, forums don't write themselves so someone has to do all the typety-type to keep posts flowing as well. Nothing wrong with getting some advice and contributing to the fray.

The Maverick is in house, I have the .30 and .22 700mm barrel kits and am working on the final 2 threaded parts (adapter and liner lock) for the .25. I tuned the .22 to 50-75 on the regs, shooting 14.3gr pellets at 900fps with great results at 10m, I will get to the shooting bench tomorrow to see how it is doing at 50y.
