Question I got a sandbag from ebay but no sand lol. What do I use to fill it with? Regular playground sand you buy at HD or some sort of plastic balls?

Sand, just make sure it is dry. Plastic balls will not give the weight and stability of sand.

Vermiculite is good. It is a very lightweight rock that you find in some potting soil bags. Sand is heavy as heck.

get some sand spread out to dry well , i swept my walk , spread sand and let dry in the sun then sweep up .

I go to GoodWill and buy small kids jeans the legs will cut into several sand bags , just cut to length and use nylon zip ties . fill with sand or rice .

I have a couple of bags filled with #9 bird shot…they conform very well to any stock and are rock solid.

Hasn’t that stuff gotten really expensive? I know target shot shells have doubled in price. Big reason I’m into airguns now. Contemplating selling my trap gun but can’t bring myself to do it yet. Lol

I used rice but it took 10lbs of RICE!, incase I ever get really hungry I'll have something to eat. Hope the mice or rats dont sniff it out. Honestly when I bought it I really thought they came full. Also had no idea it would weigh this much.

Any idea how heavy the bag is? Mine weights about 10 lbs with rice. I'd like to get the weight down.

I’m thinking the bag started out at 10lbs…I poured enough out to give the rifle room to settle in..probably around 8lbs?..it’s a shot bag…they are round and about 10” long…held closed with a hog ring..

Anyone use the stainless media used in the current reloading tumblers? For wet cleaning of your cases? I think that’s the first thing I’d use if I was into bag use
