benjamin marauder - barrels?

I have a Field and Target with the Crosman barrel and it is very accurate. Will outshoot most 22lr out to 50 yards.

Ditto. The consistent velocities and extended shot counts the regulated FT Mrod produces really makes the gun shine IMHO. I also prefer the stock shape over the standard model. Mine is ( bone stock) in .22 but I'm considering snagging one in 177 with a LW barrel before they are all gone. ( From what I read, the LW is not supposed to be pellet picky)
Btw, the only thing I disliked about my rifle was the BLAND stock. That got changed quick.

CD,

I am just seeing this post. Did you ever purchase? You have gotten good feedback here to this point.
I purchased the non-regulated Gen II .22 synthetic stock a couple of years ago. And while I like the gun (accurate, very quiet, no problems, etc.), and the fact that the Crosman .22 barrels have been good for some years, after going through a bad stretch, I would now go for the Lothar Walther barrel to wring out that extra accuracy.
Also, I would not mind owning the regulated version at all but have no experience with it.
Do know that the factory .22 and .25 that I am familiar with do not like to shoot at the full 3000 psi. They are much more consistently accurate between 1500 and 2500 psi. I heard of this from others when I purchased, and it proved to be true for me (and my brother).
Take are. S7

Edit: Here’s one more thing, if it is not too late to say it. I would get a Gen 2. However, the Gen 1 in .25 have barrels made by Green Mountain and they were very good.
Some of the .22 barrels (I believe they were Gen 1) were not good barrels at all, and that’s a fact. As noted above, Crosman’s newer (last four or five years?) .22 barrels are good, and again, I own one. I cannot comment on the .177.

No, have not purchased a pcp yet. Too many options, way too many. Long story short, Weihrauch has impressed me the most in my air rifle adventures. Given the results & depth I have seen in their springers, I'm hoping to purchase an HW100 sporter carbine .22 with the traditional hunting style stock.

Copy, cd. Yes, things can be a bit overwhelming for a while, and the same applies to scopes. It too me time, and I am still learning so many things. But I have learned a bunch in two years. Many people on this forum are experienced and very knowledgeable. And of that group, many are balanced.

I never bought a springer, though I toyed with the idea. The PCPs got me from my first purchase on. Should you ever decide to get one, there are a lot of people on this forum that can assist.

A nice lower-cost PCP could be the Benjamin Marauder. It’s among the most quiet of all PCPs, and that without a moderator (and quiet was extremely important for me), generally very dependable, lower maintenance, and affordable. The Benjamin Akeka is much the same. With a Lothar Walther barrel, the Marauder can nearly challenge some high-end PCPs, at least up to 50 yards or so, that cost two to four times as much money.

Also, the Air Venturi Avenger has a acquired a reputation as one of the most—and perhaps the most?—affordable regulated PCP airguns there is, and it is also accurate. It also has more power than an untuned Marauder. There is a regulated Marauder, too, but for a little more money. Perhaps you already know these things.

Weihrauch is a very respected name, from what I know. Enjoy. S7

Cd, in case you did not notice, and are interested, cavedweller has a Weihrauch for sale on this forum right now. I know little about what is a good price for this gun, etc., but perhaps you want to check it out. If not, that’s fine, of course. As I write it is about three pages deep into the Classifieds.

I should not have checked out, I missed those listings. Yeah, if I had the $, cavedweller would be less a HW. (y)
