Zeroing scope on Marauder

I’m new to scopes & air rifles. Have a new Marauder with a Hawke 4-12x40 scope but having trouble getting it zeroed. In fact it’s so far off I probably have other issues. On my 12 inch diameter target I have to aim outside of the target to the left & my pellet hits outside the target on the right at 25 yards. Today was my second attempt at an outdoor range. Temperature was 32 F with a good breeze but not enough to have that much of an affect. I tried the windage adjustment, probably way too much but my Impact point didn’t change much. Funny thing is the elevation was also off but the adjustments made a big difference.
I’m wondering if I mounted the scope wrong, the mounts are Hawke dovetail that are reversible for Weaver but there were no markings I could see indicating which was the dovetail side so I just guessEd. So far it hasn’t come loose but it seems like that could be the issue. I thought I might have received one of those original Marauders that were reportedly very inaccurate but the serial number indicates it was built November ‘22.
Any thoughts, opinions, guesses would be appreciated. Thanks

As you can see the scope is not centered but is left of center front & back. The barrel band appears to be pushing the barrel to the left as well. No wonder! Thanks for pointing out what to look for. Next questions are do I try flipping the mounts upside down? And how do I accurately align the barrel, just push it over so it “looks” more centered?

Yea.flip those little buggers🤙 is your barrel band adjustable? Orrr set screw? I forget. Bands could be misaligned or screws can be overtight.

Ok, I flipped the scope mounts top to bottom which didn’t work, then I flipped them back & turned them left to right & that seems to have the scope centered. i’m not sure what to do about the barrel not lining up with the air cylinder. I tried turning the barrel band a little & that seemed to help but there’s nothing I can see preventing it from going back to the previous position. I’ll attempt to zero the scope again now that the scope is centered & if it still doesn’t work I’ll take it to a gunsmith to look at the barrel issue. Thanks all for your input.

I looked at the barrel band more closely after reading your comments & there are 2 set screws. Can’t believe I didn’t look sooner! 🤪Released both & it allowed the band to line up evenly with the barrel instead of touching on one side. Held both in place & tightened & it looks much better! I just might be in business! Might be zero-able now! Thanks for your help!
