"Budget friendly" "High end optics"

..... My good friend purchased an airacuda max .22 per my recommendation and after shooting his I honestly fell inlove with it and bought myself a .25 , with that said I am looking for a quality optic with great pricing. I absolutely LOVED my titan 1c MRAD I had on my alpha wolf and on my taipan long, I just am going the other direction with airgunning for now, producing high end results with budget setups. The market is changing for the better for those who cannot afford to be airgun gigachads and I am going to start enjoying the "budget" line ups. Ive never used an Arken but hear good things, rifle is going to be primarily a table top gun, looking for high mag.... any suggestions?

for the money you cant even get close to arken, imo.

for 300 bucks you get so much deliciousness you cant even imagine :p

ive had scopes that cost more,
but none were even close to the quality or glass of the arken.

zero play in the turrets,
clicks are sharp and crisp,
glass is great,
can you tell i love mine? lol

most peoples only gripe is it wont focus down to 10yds,
arken lists 25yd minimum,
mine will go to 18-20,
but i rarely shoot anything super close anyway lol

I just wish they had a cleaner reticle, I am not the biggest fan of christmas trees lmao

CT,
Good luck with the Airacuda Max .25, been on a rollercoaster with mine, decent now, but not close to the accuracy of my other PCPs. Search "Airacuda" for the story, if interested. The Vector Veyron scopes were a gamechanger for me, just bought my third (6-24x44 FFP Non-IR) at Optics Warehouse (UK) for $261, to-my-door. I second your vote. WM

My buddies Max .22 is a half a dime sized hole for an entire magazine at 50 yards shooting 15.89 hades. Out of the box it shot 2 mags with an ES of 6 and to this day maintains that consistency.

While I realize every rifle is different than the previous and the next one , especially with chinese QC, the rifle is a performer. It sucks you had your own trials and tribulations to deal with :(

Do you find the glass to be clear on that 6-24 at 20+ mag? Or does it get a bit fuzzy?

Yeah, AirArcher's .22 Airacuda was accurate, .25 Max, like mine, not so much. Glad it was only $420, someday, when I figure out how to remove barrel, I'll push a pellet thru, more a "project" thing now. Guess purchasing my third 6-24x44 is a clue, WestHunter's fuzzy edges were a no-go, crystal clear full scope view of the VV is perfection, IMO. WM

@CTairgunner1288 Whats your budget ($$) for a “budget friendly” scope? Are you looking for a FFP or SFP? What magnification range(s) are desirable? I saw that you mentioned 20x.
Ideally, 5-25 or 6-24 something like that. Id like to be sub $500, IDEALLY sub $400. Also yes 100% FFP I hate doing the math for SFP.

I thought after tightening down the stack yours was accurate?

Bushnell MatchPro or Vector Continental are scopes I’ve had on a list for a while.

Vector

Bushnell

Also looked at this Sightron. Not a fan of the unmarked parallax knob.

What Veyron are you using? I am looking for 20+ mag currently.
I have a 3-12FFP and 4-16FFP. Both pretty decent glass and compact. I'd skip on their IR though as it isn't very good. Some people complain about a very thin reticle on the lower magnification, and i don't disagree, but hasn't been a problem for me.

I had the 3-12 and was thoroughly impressed with it, I too thought the ret was a tad thin but like you , never an issue for me.

It was perfect, for a while, then groups opened up, a real mystery. Highly suspect the barrel, just don't want to damage anything while trying to remove barrel, sure a "how-to" will surface. Your comment on the leaking regulator of your late Taipan .177 has me thinking, too. WM

I have plans to remove the barrel on mine for a full polish, maybe I will have to do said write up. Mine is also from John at New England Air Gun, his inventory has gotten awesome and each rifle he sells is shot for a handful of mags, tested, and then leak down tested before sale. Thats where we got my buddies .22 max.

I LOVEEEE the reticle on that scope so much, that honestly is not a bad price and Sightron is known for quality.
@CTairgunner1288 I have an S-Tac 5-20x50mm SFP with the MOA 2 reticle and it has a home.

But again I don’t like the parallax knob with no numbers. I killed a few animals with that scope and made a bad shot once and I felt bad about it. I stopped hunting with that scope. That FFP may be for you. I thought about it for a while and decided to go another route.

Would appreciate the write up. I look at it this way, like a new parent, whose first child is a sweetheart, thinking they have "parenting" in the bag until the next one, a little stinker, shows up. My others shoot dime-size circles @ 50 yards all day, with only an occasional tweak of the HS, great, but not much for learning the PCP. Silver-lining is what I've gained in understanding, so the journey continues. WM
