Maverick Cocking Handle, who has this issue?

One of my Mavericks has a nice 'tight' cocking handle, the other is acting like it's about to fall off. YES everything is snug. You can see the gap. FX is telling me to tighten up the pivot screw, yeah, that little thing ain't gonna no tighten that mass of aluminum up that much.

Looks like you could use a tiny, thin washer to shim it and take up the extra space that the cocking handle isn’t using.

Yeah I could but....it's under warrenty so.....let FX fix it. I'm going to pop both of mine apart and measure the slot. Could be miss machined, which is weird. Luckily I have my old feeler gauges....somewhere.

I have a SLIGHT amount of that same kind of play on my 3 FX guns (not as much as yours). I've thought about how to fix it (because I'm so anal) but gave it up. Mine only move about a 8th of an inch & I can live with it. My guns are too perfect to mess with.

I found the problem and with the parts I can fix it myself. The pivot B45 19034 (Screw M3 Special) and B42 20398 (Slide Lever). The lever and screw are not the same fit as on my other Maverick which is a very close fit in the hole and the pin. The gap between the lever and the block is about .15mm / .006". Some shim stock would take that out. I've asked FX nicely to send me new parts and I'll do it myself, heck I'll pay for them. I'm honestly surprised at the gap between the Block #32 and the lever arm #42, it's really quite a bit, I'm sure there is a reason, all of the pressure of re-cocking on that little pin #45. A small increase in the diameter, even .5mm, would be a huge increase in bearing surface area, guessing at more than 33%.

If you think about the motion of cocking these biathlon style levers, especially say if shooting fast, a tighter gap will cause hang ups, which would lead to forceful cocking(instead of first checking things out) and then lead to breakage. That’s my take on why the gap tolerances aren’t tighter.
