1 or 2 eyes

Been toying around with red dots for a while now. Got to wondering on people's preferences of using one eye or two when using a red dot. All my life has been either iron sights or scopes. Now I am also remembering all the OTHER kinds of optics and sight alignment shenanigans that we also have going on these days haha. Saw an ACOG scope laser red dot etc combo was blown away at the possibilities. Anyway. Back to the topic!
Tried a 5 shot/10 yard string both ways. looks about the same really? Or maybe I'm just dense

Correct...two/both eyes open. ESPECIALLY...for "red dot" sights and "prism" scopes.
You should even train yourself to use both eyes using iron sights.
You gain a "full field" of vision this way.

Depends on how the sun / lighting is or glare . Thats from 2 eyes open to squinting one slightly to closed on what bests view of my sights and target im aiming at . lol

Hello Ideally red dots should be shot with both eyes open, but with that said when I first zero the sight I use one eye then when happy with the zero 2 eyes from that point on. One other thing Iamzehtosty1 If you are right handed check your eye dominance from looking at the targets you posted it appears that if in fact you are right handed you are picking up the sight with your left eye. I think that's my problem too so used to 1 eye that using 2 my left wants to take over bc it doesn't know what to do

Interesting. Is there a scientific or empirical "correct" way? I am right-handed and by natural habit been using my left eye with scopes (I do no use dot sights). Don't ask me why...that just how it panned out. But willing to change if that if there is a proven difference.

Usually right uses right eye and left the leftI've tried diff ways and combos even left handed combos. My "best" comes from just using my right eye while shooting right handedI'm right handed but can shoot either side or way.

I am right handed and left eye dominated. I shoot RH and I need to be very cautious. Most all of my scopes have covers and I have started moving the open cap to block my left eye. Mostly shooting stationary targets.

I can use 2 but usually stick with one because I can switch dominant eyes meaning I can focus with either eye and sometimes my left will switch over while looking threw a scope don't have a problem with a red dot or reflex sight
