Pellet use in TX200

In dome pellets its the AirArms Diable Field 8.4 in .451 head size. I shoot indoors at 25 yards. They shoot less than .250 for 5 shot groups when I do my part, front and rear rests. I shoot in a 10 meter league no rear rest but shot off the shoulder 5 shot groups in the zeros or less than .1 with RWS 9.3 Super Mag -wadcutters. Gun tuned to 811fps with the 8.4.

My TX200 MKIII. 177 likes AA Field 8.4 and AA Field Heavy 10.3. 4.52 for both.
Dr.P or others

Have you noticed a wind drift difference between the 8.4 and the 10.3?
I shoot field target with my TX200 (<12 ft lbs). I shoot the 7.87grain. Was wondering if I should switch to the 10.3 grain.
I hear that some FT TX shooters in the UK are using 10.3 grain d/t less wind drift.
I wanted more information before spending money buying more pellets.

Yes, for me there is a wind drift difference. There is also a substantial trajectory difference. I shoot fixed distance so the wind is more an issue. If I had to account for estimated distance trajectory may be more important.

Accuracy of your Scopes Parallax ranging and being able to create & have on hand excellent D.O.P.E. may be a bigger "IF" than what the winds doing ?
Now said if you got the above all handled (y) by all miens start shooting 10.3's !!!

We figured that out years ago in the Pistol FT game, while lighter is faster & flatter .. they MOVE and move a lot in the wind, 10.3's no where as much ;)

I too just dug out my O'l reliable TX200 and reset it all back up for FT work being I plan on shooting at the WFTF World Championship held in PHEONIX AZ next year. Pellet being shot ? ... YUP the AA/JSB 10.3 grain @ 718-720 fps. Same speed we play PFT.

Thank you Scott and Dr. P for your feedback.
I've made the switch to 10.3 grain....hopefully I'll see an increase in my FT scores.

After switching, I read about Ken Hughes' incredible score in PHA Spring Classic Grand Prix. Ken was shooting a TX with a 8.4 grain pellet and scored 85%.
Damn! that's good shooting.
Maybe Maybe I should have switched to a 8.4 grain? OMG decisions decisions!!!
