Paintball regulator and plenum sizing

Just measured the stock valve body with valve and spring, it gets about 3.5cc til full.

The drop block has a check valve in it because I can't blow thru it or do a fill check of it, not a proper one. The tube section took only 1cc!

At this point, I may just gut the regulator when it gets here and go bottle pressure. Wasn't my plan, wanted to keep the spring pressure down for easier cocking. Well, I guess a stock disco spring would still be fine and get me about 15 fpe with the shorter barrel.

You could drill into the bottom of the bottle block and then pipe plug it but you would need to be careful on drill size and how straight you are
That's a good idea. Could get in there after with a carbide ball bit and hog the walls out, just kind of flying blind doing that. It would leave me an 1/8" npt ports so I could actually put a reg pressure gauge in there.

It is. The Bandit is designed as a pcp so the tube is thread for the fill port and gauge block. The Drop down block replaces that.
Thought it was all one piece and I wasnt talking about hogging it all out I've seen aluminum alot thinner than that holding 3000 psi and I wouldn't recommend going over a size or two on drill bits depending on the measurements on the plenum or make a new one out of stronger material

Little update. Finally got my regulator in the mail. Installed the reg with an old 425cc bottle off my kral since I'm still waiting on the 300 bar 250cc bottle to show up from China.

Swapped on the 10.25" barrel since another project warranted the use of the 14.5", and the 10" will give me more baffles in the shroud. With spring maxed out its getting 650ish fps with 14.3s. On low I can get it down into the 150s lol! Middle of the road was right about 480 fps.

So definitely better than I had expected and would be closer to 700-725 with that 14.5" barrel. Might check that out later, it's definitely popping pretty loud on high, so I'm sure it'll sling lead pretty good with a longer barrel.

Please no more bottle builds, I just had breakfast.

Here's one for lunch...

Dropped back to the 10" barrel and made a baffled shroud for it. Nice and quiet and set it up at 625fps with 14.3s.

Decided to go pistol grip and waiting on carbine stock to show up. Just easier to get it going than making a stock for it, have 3 other gun builds going so didn't want to waste too much time on this one.

the bottle on there is temporary, when the 250cc shows up it'll sit about 2 inches back from the muzzle. Loving the left hand bolt, I can rack it back and hold in place with my thumb and drop pellets right in.
