Since you are leaning towards the Brocock, Why not get the newest model, the Ghost also seems to fit your requirements and has more to offer in ease of adjustability, power etc. Also power to spare, up to 65 FPE!

I love low and mid power .177, but if you're a fan of the caliber, you really should own at least one that's 20+ fpe. It'll put a grin on your face every time you shoot it.

Ya, its amazing what a 13gr Zan slug moving at 950ish fps will do. I set up empty beer and soda cans at 50 - 75 yards and the pop it makes when it hits is something else for such a small round!

First impression is I don't like the way it feels. The safety paddle is too close to your trigger finger.

After looking at the pictures, the problem is because Brocock switch the trigger. After handling both the XR's, the .22 just feels more comfortable then the .177. The longer reach is noticeable with the .177

That looks like the BRK trigger that rides on a carrier, kinda like the old FWB 300s. If that is the case, it should be adjustable for length of pull (ie, slide the trigger backwards on the little rail it rides on and it'll put some distance between it and the safety).

There's just a teeny tiny grub screws in there that needs loosened to allow it to slide back.

Verify, cuz I've not handled that exact model of Brocock, but sure looks to be the case from the ones that I have handled.

I'm excited for you, that bottle on a .177 is gonna be SWEET! Lots and lots and lots of shots per fill. Like the old saying from the Henry repeater, "load on Sunday, shoot all week." (I think it was Henry, maybe Wincheste?)

I was able to move the trigger blade back and now my trigger finger fits comfortably. The next thing is to adjust the trigger. It's a little heavier then the .22 XR and want them to be the same as close as possible. Is the Compatto trigger the same as the XR?

I had to work to find a .9mm hex key to move my trigger! Not sure on the compatto but you have both 1st and 2nd stage adjustments available to you. I made changes to both of mine to get them to work so I could not tell which trigger I was pulling.

That is so tempting, but I just bought the FX Crown MKII Continuum with the 380 and 700 mm barrels, so I am covered as far as a higher quality rifle is concerned. I certainly like the looks of that XR Sniper though.

I was going to suggest maybe looking at the Steyr line-up. I think they check most of the boxes.
